This chapter isn't action-packed as the last one, but I'd hope you guys would enjoy some fluff and hidden tension within this segment since I'll be following the storyline, and introducing the new addition to the Hitotsuyanagi Squad! You know who it is. :") Enjoy!~♡

"[Y/N], dear... You'll need to wake up any minute now.."

The mellow, sweet-sounding tone of her voice had automatically made you smile. Your eyes shot open, and the sight of her made you kick off the blankets to run towards her direction. "Mom! I missed you!" You cried out, scurrying into her arms and enjoying the warm embrace.

Your mother giggled, cupping your face in her hands and wiping off the sculpted tears with her thumbs. "Did you really miss me that much? I feel loved and honored, dear." You stared up at her with another cascade of tears flowing down your cheeks. "Of course I would! I miss you and dad so much! Why did you two have to go..?"

She spared you a sweet smile. Your mother lovingly caressed your face with the tips of her fingers. "This world may be filled with light, but there will always be a dark side to everything," The [H/C]-haired woman leaned in to press a soft kiss to your forehead. "Your father and I love you so much. To think that we had to leave you at such an early age; We can never forgive ourselves..."

"I wish dad was here..." Your grip naturally tightened around your mother's waist. "That way we can be together again.. We can be whole again... Uh oh.. A-Ah... AH-CHOO!" You sneezed, purposely wiping your snotty nose and tears on the older woman's cardigan. "Sorry mom... Hehe.."

"Ugh! Gross, child! W-Why did you have to wipe your nose on my cardigan! This was worth a grand!" Her lower lip protruded in a sullen pout almost as if a child would do to their parents. You let out a small laugh. "It WAS. I'm sure you can get another one in your endless shopping spree up in heaven. Though I'm not even sure if those two dimensions actually exist in the afterlife. Do they?"

Your mother chuckled. "Enough about that, dear. I hear that you're popular with the ladies, isn't that right?" The erubescent distinction became evident on your cheeks, and your mother began to tease. "So you are!~ Oh, have you taken interest in any of them?"

"Mom! Don't change the subject to this!" You turn your head, steering clear of your mother's jesting eyes. "I-I'll admit, they're all very pretty, and I can proudly say that I admire them from afar! There! Happy?"

"Haha! You sound like a lonely potato! My dearest child, you are just like your father!" She gave a loud, inane laugh. "You and father are just adorable! Like father, like daughter! Oh, I miss the old days.." Your mother uses a finger to swipe away her tears.

You leaned over to nuzzle your head into the older woman's chest. You wanted to tell her what happened with [F/N] and the Dornröschen, but.. would it be right to bring this up now? This may be a dream, but you certainly didn't want to ruin the wholesome and angelic realm of fantasy.

"Dear? You seem to be in distress. What's wrong, hon?" Eyes closed, you breathe in her delightful scent. "I... need to tell you something, mom." You sat back and exhaled deeply, locking your [F/C] eyes with hers.

In spite of your gravely face, her serene expression gave a depth of feeling. "You wanted to talk to me about those shattered memories, correct? Along with that friend of yours, [F/N] [F/L/N], right?" With gaping eyes, you slowly nod your head. "Y-Yeah..
How did you know?"
