Gone

After Katherine came into the room disturbing their hearty laughter, both of them left the library realizing that it was getting late. Arthur once again brought Astrid to her room, before going into his own.

Lying on the cozy silk sheets, Astrid's mind wandered and wandered. Her eyes were wide open as she thought about this 'meek ball'. She had a sudden urge to know what her meek ball would look like, if she was of Blue Haven. Astrid wanted to create her own meek ball and read her own complicated mind using it. But, then the cold reality hit her. She was just a mere human and she could never do magic. She let out a sigh and closed her eyes in the hope of sleep to come and engulf her.

After failing numerous tries, she finally sat up in defeat. Her eyes fell over the brown book neatly placed over the bed stand. Helena's journal.

Astrid didn't waste a second and grabbed it to sit with her back on the bed board, and read it. She opened the pages to once again witness the surreal flower drawn using pencil. Now that she thought about it, this flower could be the Gazeral flower. The midnight purple colour will look so good on the perfect almond shaped petals. Astrid's over imaginative mind unconsciously created a three dimensional picture of the Gazeral flower. Helena drew this flower because she knew this was the flower that could give birth to magic in everyone of Blue Haven.

She flipped through the pages to find the diary entries of Helena.

Magic. It was like nothing I've ever experienced before. I freaked out at first. But, I had to keep up my cool, so pretended to not be amazed. It was hard.

This was the first entry. It didn't make any sense, though. Why was she pretending, anyway? Why did she come here in the first place? In the hope of finding something helpful, Astrid flipped to the next entry.

07/09/1967

The purple flower. It was the most ethereal thing ever. I plucked it when I saw it in the garden. I had no intention of drinking it's pulp. It's useless anyway. When I got back to the library, George was staring at me. It may not be common for the people of here to go and pluck Gazeral. I had to hide it from everyone. I had to make a drawing of it before giving it to them.

Give it to someone? Who? Helena stole the flower so she could give it to someone. Something's just not right. It felt like the most important part of the story was still hidden away. What was it?

Astrid frowned as she thought about all the facts that she may be missed to notice.

What if Helena came here for someone else? She came here so that she can take the flower and give it to someone. That someone was definitely not from Blue Haven. What if Helena was giving the flower to someone from earth? Did she take the flower with her, when she disappeared? Were her intentions good or bad?

Everything was messing Astrid mind up. Now, she didn't know what was right or wrong anymore. It was past midnight and she was still working the gears of her mind to try and find something. Anything at all. She bit her nails, while flipping through the pages.

Something was odd. Few pages were torn off from the book. It was getting more and more complicated. Who tore it? Were they torn off because they had something important written in them? That's when Astrid remembered the history book she saw that day in the library. It had the picture of some diary entries. Someone tore it to expose her identity. Was it the history book writer who exposed Helena's identity?

Why did he do that?

There is a whole new story behind why Helena came to Blue Haven. There might be a reason.

What could it be? It wasn't just to gain money. If she wanted to gain money, she could have just exposed herself. But, she didn't. She remained silent for some unknown reason. And Astrid was sure, she won't be able to find it through a simple journal. It was not going to be that easy.

She needed help. Astrid couldn't find it all by herself. She had to wait till the sunrise. Arthur will do all he can to help her. If he doesn't have anything to help with, Astrid has to go to Katherine. The siblings would together help her out. Astrid couldn't help but feel sad. They had done so much already. It would not be nice to burden them with more problems and confusions. But, how will Astrid solve all of this without anyone's help in an unknown place.

Sleep was not planning to visit her anytime soon. Astrid closed the journal after reading all of it. Finding nothing helpful, but the same mysterious someone, were receiving help from Helena, she decided to lay down.

She took a deep breath before closing her blue orbs. Even with her eyes closed, all she could think of was Helena and that certain someone. Who was Helena helping? Why did they need the Gazeral flower for? Was it to gain magic? But, magic doesn't work that way. Drinking the pulp of the flower on the day of birth is the only way of gaining magic in blood and mind. That's what Arthur said. What are the other uses of a Gazeral flower? Astrid's urge to find more about everything in Blue Haven, increased suddenly. She wanted to know more about the mysteriously beautiful blue star, Rigel. The unreal purple flower with almond shaped petals. Everything about Blue Haven drew her closer and closer to this place. Astrid couldn't help but feel attached to this unknown but beautiful place. Maybe all of this is in her head. Maybe she's imagining all of this. But, she desperately want all this to be real. Everything.

Her hands, which were placed on her stomach slowly trails up. As her mind wandered through every single unreal things she had witnessed after coming here, her hands unconsciously tried to grasp the familiar little locket that was usually on her neck. Her long fingers went past her collarbones to find it. But, it was not there.

Her eyes shoot open. Her necklace with the broken mirror locket was not on her neck anymore. Her mother's necklace, that was given to her by her father, was not with her anymore. It was gone.
