She was surprised by how big the house was, immensely huge."please have your seats while I prepare dinner". Camilla said, taking her leave, obviously headed for the kitchen.
"And I'll just take your bags upstairs". Richard spoke, taking the bags with him. Her father turned to her.
"You like it?".he smiled.
"I don't..".he frowned." There's nothing here,it can't all just change all of a sudden".she stopped to look at him, then continued." No dad".
He didn't say a thing.

"Good day sir". A young guy came into the living room.
"How are you?".
"I'm very well. It's nice to finally meet you. I'm Nicholas".he spoke, extending his hand for an handshake.
"I'm so sorry you lost your wife".
"Again!".she thought to herself.
"Thank you, this is Debbie,my daughter".she just smiled so it won't seem rude if she didn't say anything.
"Nice to meet you".
"Yeah".she said.

"Dinner's ready".Camilla announced.
They got up and followed him to the dining room.
They sat down and she served them. Halfway through the meal,no conversation was made and it was extremely absurd.
"So Debbie.......tell me about....school?". Richard finally spoke, looking at her.
"I'm done with high school, just got admission into the university of Accra".she answered, taking each bite slowly.
"Good..but how do you intend to go there.. I mean, while you're here?".
"Dad said we would figure that out".she stopped eating and faced her dad, expecting him to say something.
They all looked at him."Yeah,I guess so".he calmly said.
She got annoyed and banged her spoon on the table."You guess so?is that what you're supposed to say?you had better come up with something dad".she shook her head." Because I'm not schooling here".
"You can come to my school". Nicholas spoke, then later blaming himself for saying that .
She looked at him,"really?!I just mentioned the fact that I don't want to school here,so what're you saying ?are you that dumb?".she rolled her eyes.
"Sorry".he continued eating.
"Calm down Debbie. I'm sure we'll sort this out. There's still time". Camilla assured her.
"Baby please bear with me,now's not the right time to talk about this". Noticing Nicholas's mood,he said" now you can start by apologizing to Nicholas".
"I'm not apologizing to anyone".
"Debbie.."
"Stop. I don't mean to be rude but leave me be".
"Debbie! You're in someone else's house, you need to have some manners".he spoke in an angry tone. He had noticed her sudden change of attitude since her mom's death.
She didn't reply, she just kept on eating.
"There's no need to apologize". Nicholas said.
"We can sort this thing out Debbie. There's no need to be angry about I. And your dad's right, you need to show some respect". Richard sternly said.
"Okay".she muttered, stroking her bracelet. She stood up and went to the parlor.
"Let me show you to your room". Nicholas said to her. She was relieved that she would finally have some peace and quiet. She followed him.
They walked up the stairs and past the hallway."Huge".she said to herself. He then halted in front of a door and opened it.
"This will be your room".she entered and looked around. It was clean and neat. Huge curtain hung across the window. She smiled.
"Thanks".she spoke.
"No problem".he replied. She was expecting him to leave after that but he didn't. He stared at her and she felt so awkward.
"Aren't you leaving?".
He rubbed his hair,feeling embarrassed.
"I'm sorry".he pointed towards the door,"I'll just go".he turned,then left,closing the door.
"Annoying".she thought to herself. She started to unpack her things while sitting on the huge bed. She liked the place but she was worried as to how long she was going to stay..
She was still unpacking when she heard a knock on the door.
