I'm a new Wattpad writer. I have been keen on creating writing but have never had the chance to put pen to paper before now.
The 'Sink or Swim' story came to me when reading some of my favourite books. I enjoy a mixed number of genres and thought about bringing them together as one. As I wrote the story I tried to imagine how the book would translate to a TV series or movie. Almost each chapter could be described as an episode or movie scene.
Books seem to always focus on the relationship of one individual so I thought a group of friends would be the perfect foil for the story so each reader could relate to the different characteristics of the girls. They each have their own story and brand to follow as well as intro or extroversion.
I wanted the girls to really be on a voyage of discovery and to be strong in their own right and I hope this comes across.
A lot of research was involved during the writing process, so descriptions of vehicles and journey times and routes should be realistic. The places mentioned are all real and can be Googled and if you have the cash some of the outfits that are described can be purchased from shops around the world.
As you read through see if you can spot the pop-culture references - they are there and are very subtle.
I would really appreciate your comments. Do put them through out the story and please feel free to give me pointers on what you like and dislike. Vote for your favourite parts and tell me how you feel the characters should develop - I'm not putting on any spoilers here when I say I hope to write a follow-up to this story as I see it as part of a trilogy.
