Connell and Niall arrive at Marianne's house in Italy in the afternoon. The weather is boiling hot and really sunny, and around 30°C. They get up to the gate and call out for Marianne and Joanna. Joanna then puts her head out of the window.
"Ah look who it is," Joanna says whilst walking down the steps to open the gate for Connell and Niall.
"Ciao, bella giornata non è vero?" Connell asking about the lovely day in Italy
"Already begun speaking Italian, I see," Joanna says
"He owes it all to me, I began teaching him a couple of weeks ago," Niall says
"Oi, that was our secret," Connell says at Niall
"Oh yeah, sorry mate," Niall says in a sarcastic tone
Joanna watches back at the two and laughs
A/N: PLAY SONG
Joanna shows Connell and Niall which rooms they will be sleeping in, and then allow them to unpack. Connell then has a quick shower, puts on some fresh clothes, and walks down into the kitchen. When he enters the kitchen he sees Niall and Joanna talking, when they notice his presence they stop talking and look at him.
"Sorry to interrupt you two but I was just wondering, have any one of yas seen Marianne?" Connell asks Niall and Joanna.
"Oh yeah I think she's outside by the pool, reading," Joanna says to Connell
"Alright, cheers," Connell says
Connell walks out to see Marianne lying down on a deck chair reading "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Connell approaches without her noticing
"So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past." Connell quotes the last line of the book
This catches Marianne's attention, she puts the book down and sees Connell. She gets out of the deck chair and embraces Connell for a few seconds. They continue to embrace...
"Connell!" Someone says
Connell and Marianne stop embracing and look to see who called out Connell. Connell sees Daniel standing 20 yards away
"Alright, Daniel," Connell says
"Connell. How have you been?" Daniel asks
"Good, yeah. You must've been delighted with United winning the Europea League and qualifying for the Champions League again?" Connell asks
"Oh yeah, absolutely mate. Same for you with Liverpool qualifying for the Champions League" Daniel says
"Oh yeah definitely," Connell says
They continue to talk about football. Joanna then comes to talk to Marianne.
"You doing anything later?" Joanna asks Marianne
"Actually yeah, Myself and Daniel are going into the town for dinner. And before you ask, we already did some shopping for the rest of yas."
"Oh thank god," Joanna says in a sarcastic tone
This causes Marianne to laugh.
Marianne is now getting ready for her dinner date with Daniel. Marianne puts some makeup on her face and then walks down the stairs wearing an all-white dress. Connell sees Marianne and is blown away by how beautiful she looks.
"How do I look?" Marianne asks Connell
"You look beautiful," Connell says
Daniel catches what Connell said, this angers him, he then goes back into his room, takes out his phone, and calls someone
