"How nice of you to feed me, Mom," Frank joked. I smiled and put the pizza on his table.

"So, do you wanna watch a movie or something?" he asked. "We can dine in style." He smiled, and I melted.

No. I cannot fall in love with him. We're just friends. Just like Gerard and I. Just friends. I cannot hurt anyone. I shook off the feeling, and accepted his invitation to watch a movie while we ate our pizza. We picked out a few horror movies, and went on his couch.

"So, um, where's your parents?" I asked.

"Mom isn't home. She's working, I believe. My parents split when I was a kid," he replied. He didn't seem bothered by it, so I just nodded.

"Who do you live with, Ky?" he asked. I shifted uncomfortably, wondering if I should spill my story to him.

"My mom, too. My dad died in an explosion, so we moved here." He suddenly had sympathetic eyes.

"Awh, I'm sorry. I probably shouldn't have asked," he said. I kept my mouth shut for the rest of the movie. After it was finished, I checked my phone.

A few texts from Zane.

kyyyyyyyyy. i miss u :(

I texted him back.

i miss u tooo. ill text u when i get home, at a friends house. muah, ly.

I looked at Frank, who had his hands folded in his lap.

"Kylie? I really had a good time. I never really have friend over. Like, at all. Because I don't have friends. But now I do. You. So thank you."

I was about to reply, but I was speechless. Frank leaned in, and did something I never imagined he would do. Or anyone would do.

He kissed me.

Im not sure if I kissed him back. But I sort of enjoyed it. His lips were soft.

He pulled back. And pulled at his sleeves. That kiss made me want to know him a lot better.

And maybe, just maybe, figure out why this amazing kid hurts himself.

"Uh, I should probably get going. Thanks for the, uh, kiss," I said. I looked down the entire time.

"Okay. Thanks for the food. Sorry if I made anything awkward. I'll text you sometime. Want me to walk you home?" I shook my head,

"Nah, I'm good. Thanks." I grabbed my things and walked out his door.

As I was walking, I looked around. The world looked different when it was dark. As I was walking, I bumped into someone who seemed to be in a hurry.

As I looked up, I saw a familiar face.

It was Gerard.
