Chapter Nii-jyu: Don't Be Stubborn Pretty Much All The Time, Please

Annie's POV

We're now outside and are currently doing our sparring session. I didn't participate since the person that I was supposed to be choosing already chose someone else, and it's Reiner of all people. Now I'm all alone on the sidelines with a few others, including Mina. She said she's not really good at this stuff so she decided to not join.

"Why didn't you join, Annie?" She said to me.

"Who knows? Maybe I just found this thing to be boring."

"Someone actually found this boring? Weird."

Some people are actually enjoying this? "Why?"

"I see a lot of people having fun here. Look at Sasha and Connie." We looked at the two and saw them doing a weird pose. Shadis scolded them when he saw them.

"They're idiots so they don't count."

"How about Jean? He looks like he's having fun." Oh, so Jean is that horseshit Eren was talking about. And it doesn't look like he's having fun doing the sparring, rather he's having fun taking down his partner.

"He's a bully so of course he'll have fun beating people up."

"You're right. How about Ymir and Historia?" Ymir was just laughing at how ugly Historia's stance is. It is funny so I couldn't help but get amused at the sight.

"Only Ymir is having fun. Historia, ehh, not so much."

"Mikasa and Armin?" I could tell Mikasa's holding back since Armin is pretty weak. He really needs to exercise for a bit.

"Yeah, no. Not in the slightest."

"Then, how about, uh, Burrito?"

"Bertholdt."

"Right. Bertholdt. How about him?" Actually, it doesn't even look like he's having a sparring match. It's more like he's teaching his partner some basic punching moves. I couldn't help but flash a small smile since some of the moves he's teaching came from me.

"I guess he is."

"Finally, we found one. How about Eren and Reiner?" Oh boy, here we go. I've been staring at them, specifically on Eren, ever since this sparring session started. I would only take my eyes off them whenever Mina says some names of people that look like they're having fun doing this.

"Eren's an idiot, so of course he'd enjoy these types of things. And Reiner, well, he's a musclehead."

"Sounds like you know them well. Mind sharing some of your story to me?" Mina said, not taking her eyes off them, particularly on Eren. Eren, when did you become such a womanizer? Fuck you if that's true.

"I grew up with Reiner and Bertholdt. And Eren just appeared out of nowhere in my life."

She looks a bit disappointed but didn't say anything about it. "What made you two so close? If you don't mind answering it."

Fuck, I can't just blatantly say 'because he saw me eating a lot of sweets and threatened him not to expose it'. I'll just lie to her. "We met at the park and started to hang out since then. But he left after a few days, the reason, I don't know. Probably because summer break is almost over."

"Almost over?"

"Yeah, since they came a week and a half before schools resume again."

"Heeeh, that's why. Oh, look at the both of them." I looked and saw Eren lifting Reiner up and slamming him to the ground. It looked like it hurt but Reiner just laughed while getting up with the help of Eren.
