Chapter 6
Megan (POV)
I try wrapping my mind over what has just happened. It makes me feel queasy and nauseous. Whatever we are involved in, it's way bigger than I imagined. Not that I can imagine much in the first place.
Thomas and James are hunched over in front of us whispering to one another. I wonder what they are talking about? Annie's staring off in the distance her brow creased into concentration. "Are you ok?" I ask. She comes out of her trance. She glances over at me a few pieces of her hair spill down and over her face. "Yeah, I'm ok". "It's just I don't understand!" Annie adds exasperated. I sigh, "Neither do I".
Finally, we made it to English class, my favorite! Mr. Lang is already at the front of the room as everyone seeps into the room. An extra big smile on his face today. At least one thing today seems normal.
Mr. lang seems to fly his way over to us. "Happy Birthday Megan," he says cheerfully. Not trying to be rude or anything, but I am glad that at least one person at school remembered my birthday. I smile back at him and sit down thinking about that poem that I am supposed to be writing about. An image comes to my mind. Quickly before it goes away I draw it down.
After completing my work I take in the full view of my work.
What! Did I draw a picture of a city? It looks like something you'd find in a book. The buildings were as high as skyscrapers. The sun shining down on the buildings reflecting the sun's light. I lean in for a better look. From the center of the city, it was divided into sections that looked like the four seasons, Spring, Fall, Winter, and Summer.
Puzzled, I turn to Annie, she's looking at my picture. Turning to me "What's that?" she says. I shrug "Don't know". Annie raises her eyebrows at me "That's a really detailed drawing Megan. How did you do that?". I blush and shrug again. I look back at the drawing How DID, I do that? I think to myself. Where did it come from?
"What's that Megan?" Mr. Lang says making me jump. He must have approached me from behind. I shrug, giving Mr. Lang the same answer I did Annie.
After the bell rings Annie, and I walk over to James and Thomas. They both are in a deep conversation. "How was your first day?" Annie says to Thomas. We wait a few seconds, they don't acknowledge our presence and keep on talking. I walk up to Thomas waving my hand in his face and I say "Hello? Thomas? You there?".
This knocks both of em out of their trance. Thomas looks around noticing me and Annie "Oh sorry, what was that?" he says, and rubs the back of his neck, his face turning red. I chuckle placing a hand over my mouth trying to conceal it. This only makes Thomas's face turn even redder than before.
"Annie asked how your first day was," I informed him. "Oh, it's great," he says turning to Annie. Annie just smiles.
Looking around I notice that we are the only ones left in the classroom. "Ok, we need to leave before the next classes students arrive," I say. James gets up, his books held underneath one arm "Ok let's go" he says. I follow him out the door, Thomas and Annie not far behind me.
Halfway down the hallway, I bump into something in front of me. I find myself looking into the eyes of none-other than Biancas.
"Ugh".
Bianca has her books in front of her like she is about to hit me with them.
"What are you doing here?" Anger bubbles inside of me, threatening to burst out. I drop my books throwing my hands in the air. The dealing with Bianca teasing me over and over and over again in the past two years finally bursts out of me "Why do you always have to make my day worse!" "You're always doing it! Why!" placing my hands on my hips I give her my dirtiest glare.
