I'll Stay

"How're you feeling?" Kara gently asked as she moved closer to Lena on the couch

"Better" Lena responded, "I think the nap I had helped, I probably just needed a long and good sleep to recharge" she added

"Lena you passed out in the middle of a meeting, and you look soo worn out and so pale" Kara pointed out, clearly worried about her girlfriend

The notion that Lena wasn't taking good care of herself, drove her mad and completely insane. The rage she felt inside, that Lena never put her health first, just irked her so much.

"I was just tired, I've been feeling so tired lately. I can hardly walk on my heels anymore. But there is so much work that needs to be done and there is nothing I can do about it, I have so many projects that I need to tie up at L-Corp, Kara, so many people need me" Lena tried to explain her side, trying to let Kara understand that she was not reckless when it came to her health, but all she did was give her more reasons to be worried

"Lena, when will it be time for you?" she asked, carefully caressing Lena's arm. "When will you put yourself first? When will you see that it's okay to take care of yourself, Lena? It's not selfish that you need to put you first, it's not, my love. You put everyone else first but you, and that is one of the things I love about you, but baby, I need you to take care of yourself, especially now" there, she finally said it, she finally mentioned the baby, though indirectly

Was she ready to talk about it? the baby?

Well, she mentioned it, so maybe she was open to the idea. It couldn't hurt to want to try talk about it, would it?

Probably not.

Before Kara could speak again, Lena cupped her cheeks and crashed their lips together. It wasn't hard nor rough and it wasn't soft either. It was comfortable and steady and passionate and charismatic and full of love.

"I know it's not selfish Kara, you've always reminded me that. But, I got so used to the idea that I had to redeem the Luthor name, that it became the only thing I know how to do. I'm trying to put my needs first darling, I'm really trying" she said when she finally pulled out of the kiss

"Come here," Kara asked her as she pulled her to her chest, " you should have never had to live with their burden in the first place," said Kara as she held onto her as if her dear life depended on it, but very careful not to hurt her

"Take the day off tomorrow, I'll stay" it wasn't a command and Lena knew it, it was a plea, a request, a prayer even

She didn't even need to think about it, there was nothing to think about. She would give anything to Kara, everything if she could, the world if she could ( and we all know she can, but she's not like Lex, she doesn't want to control the world, she already has her own world, Kara Zor El)

"Okay" Lena agreed

"Okay?" Kara asked holding Lena's chin up and gently turning her neck to look into her eyes

She didn't think Lena would actually agree to it, she had hoped yes, but Lena ever hardly took days off of work.

But there she was, agreeing to take one. Perhaps things change. Perhaps.

"Okay" the Luthor confirmed, giving a peck to Kara's lips

"Want to do anything in particular, my lady?" asked the Kryptonian as she smiled genuinely, clearly excited

She didn't answer immediately, she took her time to really think about it. Kara kissed her hair, then her forehead, then her head again.

The Kryptonian knew that Lena was clearly taking her time, and so she held close and wrapped her arms around her, letting her know she wasn't going anywhere, 'I'm right here Lena, take your time, I'm not going anywhere' she seemed to be communicating

"Let's stay in," she said, "let's spend the day together" she added

Kara just smiled, then took her hand and kissed, "okay" she acknowledged

"Also," Lena paused, looking up at Kara with one hand pressed to the Kryptonian's chest, "can we go see Alex? about the pregnancy?" the Luthor asked hesitantly, she didn't know what kind of reaction she'd expect from Kara, they hadn't exactly talked about it, and Kara hadn't talked to Alex and she didn't know if Kara had told Alex about the baby.

"Is everything okay? are you feeling sick?" Kara asked seeming troubled and very anxious

"I'm okay, I don't really want to go to the hospital, plus, Alex is one of the best doctors that I know and I trust her judgment, so I just wanted her to check me up," Lena said, assuring Kara that everything was alright and we'll

"Oh- okay" Kara concurred

Then there was a long silence, it wasn't uncomfortable nor intense. It was a comfortable and pleasant silence

They just curled up in each other's arms, living in the moment, in the darkroom, yet they seemed to see each other very clearly.

"Have you told Alex about the baby?" Lena asked out of nowhere

"No" Kara whispered, clearly not wanting to talk about it, and Lena getting the hint, asked something else

"What do you think?" Lena asked absentmindedly

"Think about what?" asked the Kryptonian

"The baby" Lena answered, then went on, "we've hardly talked about it"

"I think you're going to be an amazing mom," she said it with so much pride and genuineness

"why do you think that? I hardly know anything about parenthood" she paused, "it's not like I had actual good role models" she pointed out the most obvious fact about the Luthors

"Because I know you, Lena," Kara said as if knowing Lena was supposed to mean something and by the look on Lena's face, which was clearly daring her to explain herself.

"You're good Lena, every part of you to the deep end of your core, you're good. Pure good. You didn't need the Luthors to show you that and you certainly don't need them now, that's why I know you'll be a great mom" preached the Kryptonian

"You really think so?"

"I know so" Kara answered firmly with so much honesty in her words

Even the Luthor started believing it herself, after all, it was about time she started believing in herself, more so, the way Kara believed in her.
