We let the waters rise

We drifted to surviveI needed you to stay

But I let you drift away

"Please say something," Lena asked as she moved towards the Kryptonian standing still

"Kara" Lena called her name as if to wake her from a faraway dream, "say something, please"
she continued

"What do you want me to say, Lena?" Kara asked looking at the Luthor standing in front of her

"Something. Anything." Lena replied

"So now you want me to say something?" Kara scoffed then went on "everything I wanted to tell you all those five years ago, don't matter anymore Lena. It's too late now" the Kryptonian said with soo much pain behind her words that Lena could not bear to look into her eyes.

My love, where are you?

My love, where are you?

"It can't be," Lena said, voice so low that if it were not for Kara's superheating, she would have missed it

"It can't be what?" the Danvers asked

"It can't be too late" the Luthor clarified

"Well, it already is. You pushed me away Lena, after everything we had been through together you pushed me away. Me being close to you made you flinch" she paused to look straight into her eyes as she gave her thoughts voice

"And you know what sucks even more? I let you push me away. I didn't understand why you couldn't let me be close to you. You didn't even explain why. Do you know how that made me feel? it made me want to scream and feel my lungs burn and I did. The mere thought that my proximity to you made you feel something other than safe, cut deeper than Kryptonite Lena. Sometimes I'd think about it and I couldn't breathe. I felt like I was dying but I couldn't die, because dying would be too easy"

Whenever you're ready, whenever you're ready

Whenever you're ready, whenever you're ready

Can we? Can we surrender?

Can we? Can we surrender?

I surrender

"I'm sorry," Lena said, tears streaming down her face

"I know you are, but sorry won't change anything will it?" Kara asked rhetorically

"I know I screwed up a lot Kara. I know that. I shouldn't have pushed you away and I should have at least explained myself, but I didn't and for that I'm sorry. I'm sorry about a lot of things. I miss you" Lena said as she moved to touch Kara's forearm only for the Danvers to pull away

"And you think I don't?" she asked her hands flying to her face to wipe away the tears running down her cheeks

After a few seconds of silence in the room, the Danvers added, " for the last five years I missed you. I missed my best friend, I missed someone I love soo deeply, I missed the mother of my daughter. But guess what? I couldn't have her the way I wanted to. So I just loved her from a distance and I missed her all the damn time." Kara said now pacing back and forth.

No one will win this time

I just want you back
