As the hours passed Lisa kept typing on her computer, filling out reports, reading contracts and thinking about Chaeyoung.
They had been going out for the past 2 months, and the magazines and newspapers were filled with headlines from 'The heiress of Manoban Inc. is head over heels,' to 'Dr. Chaeyoung Park, the woman who stole Manoban Inc's badass and richest bachelorette's heart,' which meant their plan was working. The candid pictures of them holding hands and embracing each other showed off the engagement ring Chaeyoung now sported and were in the social section of the local newspaper and on all kinds of social media. The news of Lisa Manoban' engagement had spread like fire since she was known to be the single flirty type of rich woman - a total playgirl that caused social mayhem.
The story had gone like this: The bad girl of the business world had found love in her best friend who was a respected and successful plastic surgeon at Manoban Inc General - softening the cold heart of the young entrepreneur. Simply put the beauty tamed the beast.
Of course, Chaeyoung was amused by how things had turned out with the press, and she bothered Lisa by reminding her that she was her actual savior. The good girl who converted the sinful corporate woman. In response, Lisa rolled her eyes.
Still, this situation was turning into a huge mess. The more time Lisa spent dating Chaeyoung the harder it was to distinguish what was real from what was fake. That was damn scary.
The lines between truth and lies were blurred, and Lisa was freaking out. Her best friend was doing this for her, and she was going to fuck things up with her confusion. Maybe what Lisa needed was to release all of her sexual frustration. Between the pressure to keep Yoosun in line and dating Chaeyoung without going beyond friendly flirting, Lisa was ready to explode.
A knock on the door distracted her from the dangerously disastrous thoughts. "Yes?"
"Hello hello Lis, you look like crap." Jisoo came into the office holding a small box in her hands. "It's been crazy keeping up with work and putting on a show for the press."
Jisoo dropped the box on the desk. "Your wedding invitations are here."
Lisa opened the box and read the white envelope with golden font adorned with flowers and hearts. "Oh my!" Lisa read:
Chaeyoung Roseanne Park &
Lalisa Manoban
request the pleasure of your company
at the celebration of their union
Sunday December 8th, 2015 at The Chapel at Cheongdam followed by a small celebration at Conrad.
Lisa was wide eyed. This was not a dream; she was really marrying Chaeyoung, her best friend.
"Yes nerd, you're going to be a married woman very soon." Jisoo smirked at her friend upon seeing her anxious face, "and we have planned a bachelorette party. For you and Chaeyoung, of course."
"What?" Lisa was now in shock.
"Yep, just told all the ladies in your office."
Lisa face-palmed. "Jisoo this is not a real wedding... I want this to be a small thing."
"Blah blah yeah it's all fake blah blah keep in denial loser. Still, you have a reputation Lis, gotta keep up with it."
"Oh hell."
