15 - Brooke's Vision

I'm in the car with Edward, Alice, Emmett, and Bella. Emmett is holding on to Bella as she struggles to get out of his grasp. Edward is driving at full speed while Alice is trying to get him to pull over.

"EDWARD! WILL YOU JUST PULL OVER?" Alice yells. "I've seen that vampire in a vision before. Brooke's vision," Alice says in a low voice. This gets Edward to stop. "What vision?" I ask. "You didn't tell her?" Alice asks Edward. "I couldn't tell her," Edward mutters. "What?" I ask. "Alice saw you becoming-" he takes a deep breath. "-one of us. But it's not definite. There are some other possible outcomes," Edward says. "Me? Becoming a vampire? That's not possible! A witch cannot become a vampire," I say. "We'll discuss it later. Just stay away from the Victoria girl. When the time comes, she'll be the one to turn you. Right now, we have to come up with a plan to get Bella to safety," Edward says dismissively.

They come up with a pretty good plan. I was to go with Bella, Jasper, and Alice because I was the closest to human and it would make Bella more comfortable. "Rosalie put on some of Bella's clothes. This should confuse them for a while," Edward orders. "Why should I do that? What is she to me other than a threat to our entire family?" Rosalie snaps. Edward curses under his breath. "Look. I'll go instead of Rose," I offer. "No. We're sticking to our original plan. Esme?" Edward growls. Esme and Bella leave the room and return shortly after with their clothes swapped. "Come on, Bella. Let's go," I say gently to her. She follows me into a car and we say our goodbyes with the others. "Let's get this show on the road," Jasper says.

After some time, we arrive in Phoenix, Arizona. We check into a hotel and we stay in the room for hours. "So, do you have a boyfriend?" Bella asks me shyly. I smile at the thought of Cedric. "Yeah. I did," I say. "Did?" Bella asks, catching my past tense. "He died. He was killed by an evil wizard," I explain. I show her the locket Cedric gave me. "But that's Edward," she says. "Looks exactly like Edward, right? That's why I feel so comfortable around Edward. Edward reminds me of him. But he was nothing like Edward. Edward's cold, inconsiderate, annoying, and egotistic. Cedric was the sweetest person ever. Quidditch seeker and captain. Loyal, kind, fair-minded, fierce, bold, brave. He was perfect," I say. "Edward's sweet," Bella says defensively. "Only to you. He only looks at you the way he does. That boy is crazy for you," I say. This makes her smile.

Sometime later, Bella gets a phone call from her mom. "We're going to the airport," Jasper tells us. We go to the airport and we wait for our flight. "Jasper, stay with Bella. Brooke and I are going to go get some food for Bella," Alice suggests. "Alright," Jasper agrees and Alice and I head towards the nearest restaurant. "Pizza sounds good enough," Alice says, paying the lady at the counter. We go back to find Jasper who was in a frantic state. "She went into the bathroom and never came out," Jasper says. Alice drops the pizza and heads into the bathroom. She comes back out with a worried look. "She's not there. There are two exits, she must have taken the other one," Alice says.

Alice makes a call to Carlisle and moments later, Edward arrives. "Where's Bella?" Edward growls. Alice goes still and then she says, "The dance studio." "We have to get there," Edward says. "What's the fastest way?" he asks. "Ever heard of apparation?" I ask Edward. "Wizard teleportation," Emmett says. "Let's do it," Edward says. "Alright. You might feel a little weird," I say, gripping my wand. "Meet us there as fast as you can," Edward tells everyone else. He grabs onto me and I apparate.

We arrive at this old building in seconds and Edward is up on his feet. "Stay here. Whatever you do, don't go in," he orders and he rushes into the building.

Later, Alice, Emmett, Jasper, and Carlisle arrive. Alice comes out to tell me the cost is clear after they killed James. "Is Bella alright?" I ask. "She needs the hospital," Carlisle says, setting her in the backseat of a car. He and Edward get into the car. "Alice, you know what to do," Edward says as Carlisle drives away. Alice turns to me. "Can you apparate us back to the hotel room?" she asks. I nod and the three of them grab onto me. I picture the hotel room and I apparate.

Alice is having fun destroying the window. When she was done, she went to the front desk to let them know that Bella fell down the stairs and broke a window.

The next day, we visit Bella at the hospital. "Is she ok?" I ask. "She hasn't woke up yet. But she'll survive," Edward mutters. "She'll be fine. Stop worrying," I tell Edward. "Thank you for apparating me there. I don't think I would've made it otherwise," Edward says. "No problem," I say. "What exactly did Alice see in my vision?" I ask. "She saw you surrounded by snow. Then Victoria comes and turns you," he says. "I would never let that happen to you though. Once you become one of us, you're damned for life," Edward says.
