36 - Glad to be Back

Back in my room, I open the small box. A keychain from Canada. With a wolf on it. I sigh. Should I have forgiven him? "Cute keychain," Heather says. "You found my house?" I ask. "Who would've thought you didn't live with the Cullens?" she teases. "We had a fight. I should've forgiven him. But I didn't," I say. "You know what I saw?" she asks and I raise a brow. "Chemistry," she says. "Ugh, Heather. You say that about every boy I've ever interacted with," I groan. "True," she admits. "But he is kinda cute," she adds and I throw a pillow at her.

"Did anything interesting happen after I left?" I ask suddenly. We hadn't talked much about the topic. "Poppy and George dated for a while. Then we had a teacher from the Ministry. Professor Umbridge. She sucked," Heather says. "Do you ever wish you never left?" Heather asks. "In all honesty, I do like it here better. The Wizarding World was too chaotic for my liking," I say honestly. "But it was also magically beautiful," I add, thinking back. "I do wish you never left. You were a good friend and I missed you a lot," Heather says. "I missed you too. I was going to visit you but I turned. I didn't think anyone would welcome me so I stayed. I guess this whole situation is just a big excuse for me to see you again," I say. "Oh god, I missed you. You should've been there for all the pranks we pulled off with Fred and George," she says, hugging me tightly. She lets go and looks me in the eye. "But if Jared really is your friend, forgive him," she says. "I should, shouldn't I?" I say. She nods eagerly. "Thank you, Heather," I say. "Yes. Now go," she says, pushing me forward. I let out a small laugh before grabbing my car keys and heading out the door.

"Brooke?" Jared asks in disbelief when he sees me getting out of my car. "The one and only," I say. "Does this mean I'm forgiven?" he asks hopefully. "Yeah," I say. He grins. "Glad to have you back," he says. "Glad to be back," I say, smiling as well. "Wow, did we make up?" someone asks. I look up to see Seth. "I thought you were at the Cullen's house?" I ask. "I came like twenty minutes ago to see how Jared was doing," he says. "He was pretty upset over you," Seth whispers. "I heard that," Jared says. I laugh. It was good to have my friend back.

"So then Sam said we're going to attack the Cullens tonight. Get rid of the demon spawn once and for all. And he looks at me, like what'd he want me to do? He was afraid I'd go soft on you and Seth," Jared explains. He was telling me and Seth what happened after Seth left the pack. "Would you have?" Seth asks. "I don't know. Alpha's orders are confusing. So Sam told me if it came to a fight, I'd have to take Brooke on. I was ready for it-" Jared continues. "You were ready to kill me?" I ask, slightly offended. "Not kill. Stall. Sam knew your power and he assumed you wouldn't attack me. I saw you running off to the back and all, so I followed you. I tried to get to you but I was blocked. By an invisible wall. Like the property wouldn't let me through and it was pushing me back," Jared says. "My shielding charm," I say. "Yes. When I returned, Sam and the pack was ready to leave. We'd been planning this all day so I didn't understand why we were retreating. That's when Sam told me Jacob imprinted. On Renesmee of all people. Jacob imprinting on a child!" Jared exclaims. "After that night, I wanted to apologize. Make amends with you two but I couldn't find a way to," he says. "Aw, Jared," I say. "Can we do a group hug?" Seth asks hopefully. "Group hugs are weird," Jared opposes. "No they're not," Seth opposes. I look at Jared who was looking at me. "Alright, fine," Jared says.

hiii readers!! If you saw my last update, you would know that my teachers are giving me a lot of tests >:(( I wasn't going to post an update because I thought I wouldn't have time to write a chapter but my procrastination got the best of me. I'm currently procrastinating on studying and homework but I'll get back to it soon :)) I quickly wrote this chapter while studying for english so sorry if its a little shorter than usual. It's more of a filler chapter about what Jared was going through when Seth and Brooke were away, so not that much action. Anyways, due to my schedule I've decided to try to update at least once a week instead of every three days, until my schedule returns back to normal. Thank you for understanding and happy reading!!
