"Hey." I feel a warm hand grab my arm and I quickly sit up in bed. My breathing is heavy and I'm gripping the bed sheets so tightly that my knuckles are white.

I look down at Shikamaru kneeling next to the bed looking very concerned.

"I think you were having a nightmare." He whispers. His hand stays put on my arm.

I was. The same one that I've had of Deidara every night that I'm away from Kakashi since the assault.

"Yeah. Thanks Shikamaru. I'm really sorry that I woke you up." I say, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"You were dreaming of him, huh?" I look at him, shocked, wondering how he could know that.

"You said his name." He says, looking away from me.

I nod my head.

"I have nightmares of him every time I sleep without Kakashi for some reason."

Shikamaru stands up, finally releasing his hold on my arm. He walks over to the other side of the bed and opens the curtains revealing a small shred of light from the sun that is just beginning to rise.

He turns around and sits at the edge of the bed, laying back onto the comforter.

"I wanted to let Kakashi and Asuma Sensei kill them that night."

I bring my knees up to my chest, wrapping my arms around them.

"I'm glad you stopped them. They weren't thinking clearly." I mumble softly. Who knows what would've happened to them if they had taken justice into their own hands.

"Well, Deidara and Yahiko certainly deserved a lot more than just being arrested." He scoffs.

I lean my head down against my knees and admire the sky as it slowly fades into a lighter blue.

I don't disagree. But I can't dwell on it anymore. That night is not something I want to think about. The occasional nightmares already make it hard enough to move on.

"You know if we leave now, we'll get this over quicker and you can get back to Temari faster."

He chuckles. "Yeah. Would I be a loser if I admit that I miss her and it's only been a night?" He mumbles a little embarrassed.

"No. I missed Kakashi after only 5 minutes." I giggle.

"Low key? I felt the same way." He laughs.

I throw the covers off of me and get out of bed.

"I'll start getting ready."

He nods his head, still looking out the window and I disappear into the bathroom to freshen up for the rest of our trip.

It's around noon and we still have at least eight or nine more hours until we hit the village of Yugito Nii.

We zip through the trees, flying from branch to branch in silence. I think we're both a little tired from lack of sleep.
