With an Audience

"Babe, I'm back." I hear Kakashi kick his shoes off at the door.

He got an early morning text to see Lady Tsunade about a quick mission. I've been waiting for him to come home from the meeting.

"Good. What kind of mission is it?" I ask from the kitchen where I'm boiling some water for tea.

I feel like shit. I have no energy and just want to stay in bed today. But I'm going to force myself to train in the field anyway.

"Just a quick overnight. With your favorite man, Genma." He teases me.

I roll my eyes and turn to face him, leaning against the counter.

"Make sure to let him know that you talk about him while you're fucking me in public restrooms." I say, crossing my arms in front of my chest.

He looks me up and down in my sweatpants and sports bra.

"It's like, noon." He says.

I huff and turn around, turning the burner off since the water is boiling.

"I'm just so tired for some reason." I whine. "Probably because you keep fucking all the energy out of me. Every. Single. Night."

I try to sound annoyed but fail.

"Well maybe if you weren't there. Looking all, like that." He motions at me with his hands. "Then I wouldn't be all over you constantly."

"Well, excuse me for being here." I giggle.

I grab a mug out of the cabinet and pour the water in, dipping my tea bag into the steaming liquid.

Kakashi walks over to the fridge and looks through it.

"I gotta leave in an hour. Do you want something for lunch?" He pulls out some stuff to make a sandwich.

"No. Nothing sounds good right now." I say, walking over to the kitchen table and sitting down with my tea.

"You didn't want breakfast either my love. You have to eat something." He nags me.

"I know. I will baby."

"I should be back on time for Saturday morning pancakes tomorrow." He says.

"What are you gonna do for the rest of the day?" He asks.

I take a small sip of my tea.

"I'm gonna head to the field, I think." I say, looking out the window at the sunny day.

"Don't push yourself too hard." He says as he walks over with a plate in his hand. He kisses my forehead before he pulls out the seat next to me.

"I hate sleeping away from you." He says.

"Ugh, I do too." I whine as I put my head down on the table dramatically. I feel him pat my head gently.

"Oh!" I get up and run into the bedroom, digging through the bottom drawer for the app-controlled toy I bought.

I grab the box and put it behind my back. I walk back out of the bedroom where he eyes me suspiciously.

"I have a surprise for you. And now is the perfect time to use it." I say excitedly.

He takes a bite out of his sandwich, looking intrigued by what I'm holding behind my back.

I sit down in the chair next to him and place the box on the table for him to look at.

He takes another bite of his sandwich and moves his head to read the box while he chews. As soon as he realizes what it is, his jaw stops moving. He gives me a quick sideways glance before flipping the box over and reading the back.
