"Ow, fuck."

I take a step back from the bacon sizzling and popping on the stove in front of me and use long tongs to flip one of the pieces.

I didn't know cooking breakfast for Kakashi was going to give me battle scars.

But he looked so sweet, fast asleep in bed this morning and he has been catering to my every need from the moment he found out I was pregnant.

I figured breakfast in bed was the least I could do for him.

He's been so busy.

Between missions, taking on extra chores, and making sure the new house construction is staying on schedule, he's been so exhausted lately.

I'll be so happy to have this baby come out of me and to be able to actually do things again. And maybe see my whole feet again. Not just my toes.

I crack three eggs into a bowl, mixing them with a fork as I hum to myself in the kitchen.

I take a deep breath in, inhaling the delicious aroma of the bacon. At least something other than peanut butter and pickles sounds appetizing right now.

As I hum the lullaby that Iruka and my sister used to sing me when I was a child, I wait to feel the tiny energetic flutters of my sons movement inside of me.

Sure enough, I can feel him reacting to the sound of my voice and I can hardly help the beaming smile that sits on my face as I feel him move around.

As I pour the egg mixture into the pan, I feel a stronger wave inside of my belly, almost like a thud.

My eyes open wide as I place the bowl onto the counter and lift my tshirt above my stomach.

I freeze, waiting to feel the same movement, one much stronger than what I've felt before. All his other movements have felt like small bubbles.

This one was different. I place my hands over my belly, waiting.

After a moment of standing perfectly still, I feel the same gentle kick against my hand.

"Oh my God. Oh my God! Kakashi!" I yell excitedly, pressing my hand against my stomach to feel more.

We've been waiting for the first time that we would be able to feel his movement from the outside of my belly, and it's finally here.
