Whoever is controlling Jackson went out of his way to sneak into the hospital and murder a pregnant woman because Jackson couldn't do it for whatever reason. Knowing this, we've come to the same conclusion: the master will most likely be attending the rest of the murders to ensure that something like that doesn't happen again. And thanks to Scott's sleuthing skills, we know that Jackson went and bought a ticket to a big rave happening in an abandoned warehouse tonight—a rave that quite literally everyone will be at, although the tickets are apparently hard to come by. Scott wasn't able to get any, so the three of us are left wondering how it is we will get in.

That is, until the boys get home from lacrosse practice—which yes, they are required to attend regardless of how they'd rather spend their spring break, with three tickets. When I asked how they got them, they simply replied with, "Isaac helped us out."

We find ourselves back at the animal clinic, surrounding the same metal table with Deaton, except this time Derek and Isaac aren't joining. The rave is in just a few hours and we need to come up with a solid plan as to how exactly we're going to trap the kanima—and therefore, the kanima's master—inside the warehouse. More importantly, we need to figure out how we can stop it from killing whoever is next on its list. In response to the latter, Deaton holds up a small jar with a medicine label on it.

"Ketamine," Stiles reads.

"It's the same stuff we use on the dogs, just a higher dosage," the doctor explains, setting it down on the table and sliding it toward the three of us, following up with a medical-grade syringe. "If you can get close enough to Jackson, it should slow him down enough to buy you some time." He then reaches for the same jar with the smokey black powder from yesterday. "This is some of what you'll use to create the barrier. Stiles and Skylar—this part is for you. Stiles: you are the only one who will actually be handling this substance. Only you."

"Uh, that sounds like a lot of pressure," Stiles mumbles in response, reaching out and grabbing the jar to examine it. "Can we maybe find a slightly less pressure-filled task for me?"

"It's from the mountain ash tree, which is believed by many cultures to protect against the supernatural," he explains to my anxiety-ridden friend. Then, he turns to me. "Coincidentally it also tends to have clairsentience-inhibiting properties, which means I have to suggest that you remain outside of the circle."

Scott and I share a look. I decide not to argue on the topic—however this may interact with my abilities, I'd rather not be left powerless against the kanima, and I'd also rather not ruin what progress I've made in the last week getting this under control.
