VIOLA WINCHESTER
1993

𝗩iola couldn't help it. She was happy, even though Hogwarts was slowly but surely turning into a graveyard for the petrified, she finally took control of her ability. It has been in control of her entire life and she felt like she was the one driving now. But of course, sadness and misery weren't too far behind. She had double Potions with the sixth years, who were brewing Amortentia. There was a certain flower her brothers loved and they had given her it as a nickname. Jasmine. And there was Sirius' favorite cologne, Remus' secrets stash of lavender infused chocolate bars, Butterbeer and the one thing Severus always seemed to smell like; smoke. Viola guessed it was because some Potions you had to have over a little fire.

"Professor? I know we all have to have partners and I don't have one but um ━ you're kinda bad at Potions." Oliver scratched his head and Viola rolled her eyes.

"I'm not bad at Potions Oliver, I'm hopeless at it. Be respectful." She scolded him, smacking him lightly on the chest and he laughed. There it was again. That laugh. It sounded exactly like her brothers' laughter and it did hurt, blimey it did. But she only flashed him a smile. "But, my dearest younger friend, you're going to have the best grade. Screw Percy Weasley and that shady Slytherin dude ━"

"Orion isn't shady, in fact he's a friend of mine." Oliver shook his head.

Viola snorted. "If he was your friend kid, I don't think he would've told the entire castle last year that your secret weapon is Harry Potter and I don't think he would've teamed up with his girlfriend. But then again, that's just me. Now stay put, I'm going to ask Percy for some tips."

Oliver rolled his eyes but stayed put anyway and watched as Viola nearly tripped over her own feet. She had turned bright red when the learners including Severus looked at her and she awkwardly sent them all a smile before awkwardly making her way to Percy, who looked stunned for a moment.

"As an adult and a Professor, Mr Weasley, I demand you to tell me how to brew the Amortentia." Viola began, putting on a poker face and she tried with all her might not to laugh at Percy's face. "Or I'll take five points for disobeying a Professor."

Percy matched the color of his hair. "I ━ um ━ haven't read the instructions Professor, but I know for a fact that what Oliver is doing is either going to blow, or we're going to have to evacuate the entire class." He told her, pushing up his round glasses and Viola grinned at him.

"See, not so bad, ey?" She smiled at him, gave him a pat on the back and marched back to Oliver. "Stop." Oliver immediately froze, inches away from adding what seemed like unicorn horn dust and Viola snatched it from him. "Add the... green stuff first."

"The instructions say unicorn horn dust first." Oliver argued but added the green stuff first as Viola still had him under her control, though that was fading and fading fast. She still needed to practice controlling it completely, but she was lazy.

"Percy said you'll kill us all and in case you didn't know, giving birth while dead is impossible."

Oliver raised a brow. "You say some weird stuff Professor."

Turns out, the green stuff came last and everyone had to leave the class because of the pungent smell and Severus gave Viola a glare and Oliver detention with Viola.

"𝗛ow many times do I have to apologize Severus?" Viola asked Severus a few hours before Oliver's detention. "I am sorry and look, if you want, I'll cut off all ties with Noah."

Severus' face hardened for a second. "I don't care about Greengrass anymore Viola, I'm worried about you and I care about you."

"You're worrying for nothing Sev, please can't we just go back to how things were before Noah showed up?" Viola moved forward, slowly reaching out to touch his arm and when Severus didn't move, she gently touched his arm. "I know we can never be a thing, and that we never were one, but I miss you Sev. A lot." She swallowed hard. "My brothers were goofs, as you know, they never took anything seriously or gave out great advice but the greatest advice they have left me with was to run, cry, scream, fight, die and live for what I want, for I believe in. And I want you, I believe in you Severus." Viola sighed, retreating her hand. "Everyday is like falling more in love with you. But I can see you don't want anything to do with me. So here."

As she slipped off the necklace Severus gifted her on her birthday, the warmth it had emitted vanished from her body and she felt cold. Without a word, she gave it to Severus and she turned to leave.

Before she slipped out that door, she turned to him and said, "Only Merlin knows if I did the right thing Sev, and I hope I did."

Viola met up with Oliver after dinner, in McGonagall's class, as she said that she needed to clean it but Viola wasn't about to let Oliver suffer. After watching him try to figure out how the stick with fur at the end worked and she herself trying to figure out what in the devil's name it was, she decided that she wasn't going to waste her energy on either of these things. She didn't want to know what the one with little hair did, or the one with feathers did so she waved her wand, cleaning the class up with one swift movement and they both sat down.

"Hey Oliver? Have you ever been so deeply in love with someone?" Viola thought out loud, but didn't give Oliver a chance to answer. "Because I have, and trust me when I say Crucio is nothing compared to the pain love throws at you." She laughed a little.

"I can't say I have Professor." Oliver replied, looking at his Professor.

"Just Viola will be fine, no one's around anyway." She sighed. "This wasn't my dream, I feel like I got robbed. My dream was to open my own chocolate factory, I mean I worked for one before I agreed to come help Dumbledore but I wanted my own." Viola smiled, looking up at the ceiling, remembering all the good times she had in this class. "I was going to be the owner, obviously but Remus was going to be my manager and if any chocolate was missing, I would've known it was him. And then have Severus by my side, as my husband and I'd be carrying his child."

Oliver gave his Professor a bewildered look. "Professor? Why are you telling me all this? Don't you think it's better to tell a friend?"

"It's easier to tell you Oliver because you won't understand what happened during the war. It's easier confiding in you because you're still young, and you don't have any problems." Viola sighed, looking out the window and she smiled when her eyes automatically found the Sirius constellation. "And all my friends are dead, except four but one is rotting away in Azkaban. So yeah, it's better telling you all this."

an. If Viola was honestly a Hogwarts student now, she'd be best friends with Cedric, the twins, Cho and Oliver.... Also, I don't know if I should make this a happy ending cause all my stories end in sadness, like Strange Love, Boy In The Bubble, Crystalline and Charlie's Confessions.
