Jules woke up the next day with her head still hurting. She looked around and noticed that she wasn't in her dorm but in a hospital room, Oren asleep next to her. She sat up and caused him to wake.
"Hey, how's your head?" He said as he sat up
"It feels like someone was tap dancing on my brain"
"You scared us last night"
"I don't know what happened, one minute I was fine then the headache started and everything went black"
"You hit your head pretty hard but not hard enough for a concussion" Jules let out a sigh of relief, it could have been way worse but she lucked out. "I called your mom and she said she would be back today"
"Thanks for coming to help us and staying with me"
"Like I've always said, anything for you. No matter how mad we get at each other I will stand by that" She smiled at the boy
"I must be the luckiest girl in the world then" Jules leaned into Oren's side and felt something move around her neck. She looked down and saw the necklace she gave back "Did you put this on me?"
"I saw it sitting on my bed and I wanted you to have it back"
"Yeah about that-"
"You don't have to explain, I read the note" Jules lifted her head and looked into Oren's eyes
"I'm really sorry for how I've been acting since I got back"
"I should be apologizing to you. I took my anger out on you and said some stuff that was way out of line"
"We've both been really shitty to each other" She said as she grabbed his hand
"Have you always had small freckles?" Jules laughed "What?"
"Way to ruin the moment"
"Oh, so we were having a moment" She laughed a little harder
"Nice to see you laughing" They turned towards the door and saw Jules' mom Dayna
"Hey mom" She walked over to the bed and hugged her daughter
"Oren, thank you for staying with her"
"Anytime" He said as he stood "I'm gonna head out, you need anything?"
"Just clothes, thanks" Oren nodded and made his way out of the room.
"So, is this like a thing again?" Dayna smiled
"Mà"
"He never left your side last night"
"Never?" Her mom nodded and Jules smiled a little
"He really cares about you Julieta"
"Subject change. What did the doctor say?" Her mom shook her head a little
