Ch. 9 "Shocking Truth"

It was the next morning, I was looking in the mirror I had a cut lip a black eye, bruised cheek, the cut on my forehead it looked deep I finally got it to stop bleeding, but it hurts lets just say coming home past 3AM, he was not so forgiving even though I told him I would be late, after a beating then throwing me down the wooden stairs my body hurt, 

I pulled out the makeup bag and covered up the bruises as best I could, but makeup can only go so far, thankfully it was the weekend

Which means no school and no Tony Stark, 

Don't get me wrong I did have a good time helping Bruce and Juggling helping out Tony, I mean I do enjoy a good challenge, I thought 

I snuck out of the house, I decided to go see my mom, 

I arrive at the hospital, taking the elevator, I go to the floor and walk into her room, I kept the cut covered with my hair, 

I sat in the chair next to her, 

"Hey mom," I said 

She slowly turned her head she looked worse 

"Sweetheart there's something I need to tell you before I go," She said 

"Don't say that," I said grabbing her hand, 

"Let's be honest sweetheart I'm only getting worse," She said weakly 

"your strong," I said 

"Not to beat this sweetheart," He said smiling at me, 

"The truth is, your biological father, I just wanted to keep you away from the publicity, and at the time he was just starting to take over the family business and fortune," She said 

I looked at her shocked, sure whenever I would ask her she would just blow off about my father, 

"If you don't believe me, go home, in the cabinet in my bedroom is a hidden manilla envelope in a hidden drawer," She said 

"But the truth is your father is Tony Stark," She said weakly 

"You can't be serious," I said 

"I am, thirteen year ago, I was in love, He was the love of my life since we were teenagers, but then i got pregnant with you, and I stopped returning his calls and moved out I disappeared," She said 

I was stunned, I didn't know what to say, 

"Why are you telling me this now?" I asked 

"Because when i go I want you to know that you have someone here, someone you can trust," She said 

"I don't trust him," I said 

"Your going to have to sweetheart," She said 

I felt the tears falling down my cheek, 

"Mom I can't do this without you," I said laying my head on the edge of her bed, 

"I just can't.." I said 

"You can sweetheart because no matter where you go I'll always be with you," She said 

I nodded 

"Miss visiting hours are over," The nurse said 

I wiped away my tears, I kissed her forehead, 

"I love you sweetheart," She said 

"I love you too," I said 

I walked out my arms crossed since it was cold and dark out, not to mention raining, I made it to the abandoned warehouse, 

I ran my fingers through my hair as I paced back and forth, I was hyperventilating 

"Okay breathe... Breathe..." I mumbled 

"Charlie start breathing patterns," I said to the AI I created a few years ago, 

"Starting now miss Rory," He said 

After my episode I ran home walking into my moms room and found the hidden drawer and the envelope, 

I took it and walked out of the house before Denis seen me, I walked back into the warehouse, I opened it with shaky hands, 

It was my birth certificated, 

Cody Rory Mother Camille Grey Father Tony Stark, 

I pulled out another paper it was a blood test confirming that I was his daughter, 

I sat there at the table looking at all of the evidence 

"No, No, it's not true.." I mumbled 

"It can't be," I mumbled
