Ch. 28 "Scare"

                                                    Tony POV 

I was standing outside of the lab as Bruce talked to me after getting Cody stable, 

"So what happened why did she almost go into diabetic shock?" I asked worried, Pepper was also standing next to me, once she found out what happened she rushed to the lab, 

"Truthfully," Bruce said 

I nodded, 

"She's exhausted and dehydrated," Bruce said 

"What?" I said 

"She's exhausted Tony," Bruce said 

"I heard you but how can that be I've been making sure she sleeps," I said 

"Has she actually gone to bed when you tell her too?" Pepper asked looking at me, 

"Why wouldn't she?" I said 

"Really Tony? she's your daughter, would you go to bed just because someone told you to?" She asked 

"No," I said 

"Exactly," She said 

Bruce cleared his throat, 

"Anyway she's just needs rest and fluids, I've got her on a IV drip, but she needs to be careful this was a very close call," Bruce said 

I nodded, 

"Can we see her?" Pepper asked 

Bruce nodded, 

"She won't wake up for a while, I've got her sedated so she can get some sleep," He said 

We both nodded, 

We walked in, Cody had a oxygen mask over her nose and mouth, and IV in the top of her hand, I sat down in the chair next to her, 

                                                      Cody POV 

Beep, Beep, Beep, 

What the hell is that damn noise,

Beep, Beep, Beep, 

Whatever it is someone better freaking shut it up before I blow a gasket, I thought 

My eyelids slowly flutter open,

The first thing I noticed was I felt a little loopy, the second was the blinding light that made me blink a few times, the third was the oxygen mask on my face, 

I slowly turned my head I see the window, it was dark out, 

I can't lay here I need to finish, I thought as I turned my head slowly, I see Tony he was looking down at his tablet with a grimace, Pepper was sitting in the chair next to him, 

Sure she would never replace my mother, but she was very nice, I was slowly warming up to her, 

I slowly reached for the mask on my face about to rip the thing off, 

But someone grabbed my wrist, 

"Leave it," Tony said 

I slowly turn my head towards him, 

"You lost a bit of oxygen passing out the way you did," He said 

I swallowed thickly, he was scowling, he knows I mean of course he does, he's Tony freaking Stark he's one of the smartest men on the planet, 

It was quiet They were staring, 

I looked away, 

"Okay so I'm going to start off by saying what on earth were you thinking?" Tony said 

"I don't know what you mean?" I said 

Yeah, Yeah, that's good play dumb, right like he's not going to see though that Cody, what are you five? I thought 

"Don't play that, I invented the playing dumb card, I'm talking about you not sleeping and studying at all hours, FRIDAY explained to me the last time you slept," Tony said not sounding happy, 

Damn AI, I thought 

I crossed my arms, as I sighed, 

"Cody please talk to us," Pepper said 

"It's nothing okay, I just may have forgotten to eat a little bit, it's no big deal," I mumbled 

"No big deal? Cody you passed out and seized that is more than a big deal you were close to going into diabetic shock," Tony said 

"It won't happen again alright," I said 

"Oh I agree, no more crash studying, you are to be monitored," Tony said standing up, 

"You can't be serious?" I said upset that the heart monitor started speeding up, 

"I'm dead serious this was too close of a call," Tony said 

"You can't do that, I'm-" I began, 

"Yes I can and will, you need to learn that staying up all hours and not sleeping isn't good for you," He said 

"Like you can talk," I said glaring at him, 

"Yes, but I'm and adult and I know my limits,"  Tony said 

I really couldn't think of a come back for that, 

I went to say something but stopped, 

"That's what I thought," He said 

He looked down at his phone and walked out of the room,
