Chapter 27

Lily's POV

"Do you have to go?" Carlos whines while I get ready.

"Yes, but I'll allow guards," I tell him. He comes around to hug me and I hug him right back.

"Be careful okay?" He tells me quietly.

"I will. I love you," I say to him. It feels weird telling him I love him. I've never told anyone that before.

"And I love you more amore," He says and kisses my lips. 

We hug for a few minutes, then I pull away. "Carlos, I have to go before I'm late," I say laughing at his clinginess. If only I knew what would happen later that night I would've hugged him tighter.

I am closing up the store. I check my phone to see the time and it reads 10. Carlos' guards are around the corner guarding me as I lock up the shop. 

"You ready?" Noah asks me. 

"Yeah," I say. Then a black SUV pulls up. Noah pulls me behind him. He points his gun out. The SUV comes to a stop. Then a fired gunshot has been heard. Noah stiffens, then slumps to the floor. A man in a mask came out holding a gun.

"Noah!" I kneel down. I look at his chest to see blood spewing out of it. That man just shot Noah. 

"Run," he tries to say but it comes out as a whisper. 

"I'll be back Noah," I say with a shaky voice.

I start running as fast as my legs can carry me. I see Carlos' men stepping around trying to fire at the man who shot the gun. I grabbed my phone and tried to dial Carlos, then a waist grabbed me and shoved me on the floor. I try to get up but a punch to my face made my nose bleed.

"Hello love," The man says and fires the gun. Aiming at me. I hear two gunshots and men yelling until I am taken into complete darkness.

Carlos POV

I'm in my office when my phone rings.

"What?" I say into the phone.

"Carlos, something happened," Chase says with worries in his voice. I had a gut feeling that something was about to happen, but I normally ignore it.

"What happened Chase tell me," I ordered into the phone.

"Someone, someone shot Noah," Chase says panting. I can hear him running around and men yelling on the other side. Then I remember Lily.

"Chase where is Lily?" I ask in a more stern voice.

"They-they shot her, Carlos. Two shots on her body. She-she hasn't woken up yet you have to get to the hospital fast," Chase says quickly. 

"I'm on my way," I tell Chase. I just told her that I loved her and now she's on the verge of dying.

I grab a small box and shove it into my pocket before I leave.

I arrive at the hospital and I see guards in the waiting room. I walk in hurriedly. 

"Where are they?" I ask almost yelling.

"Noah's fine Carlos, but Lily. She's not waking up," Jordan says tears in his eyes. I've never seen him cry before. Jordan loves Lily as a sister, they've become close over the past few weeks.

"Which room is she in?" I ask the nurse. She leads me to the room where they are currently performing surgery on Lily.

I look through the window to see my Lily lying on the hospital bed, blood on her clothes and face, and doctors running around in there. A nurse notices me and walks out of the room, closing the door behind her.

"Sir, you can't be here right now," the nurse says.

"I have to see her," I yell at the nurse who only blocks my way.

"She's his girlfriend," A voice says. We both turn around to see Chase coming towards us.

"Well, you can support your girlfriend while waiting in the waiting room," the nurse says. She basically shoves us into the waiting room with the others. I see Madi and Jules crying.

Noah is out of the room. A bandage wrapped around his chest.

"You okay?" I ask him.

"Yeah, I'm fine but it should be Lily you should worry about," he says taking a seat. Jules quickly rushes over to Noah.

It's been over an hour and no word from the doctor about Lily yet. I'm starting to really get worried. What if, what if she's......dead. No! I will not allow myself to think like that.

The doctor finally comes out.

"Can I have the family members of Lily Carson?" The doctor asks. Jules stands up, me following after.

"I'm her sister, please tell me she's okay," Jules sobs. Making it hard to breathe properly.

"And you?" The doctor turns to face me.

"I'm her fiance," I say.

"Okay. Lily's surgery went well, the bullet went through her artery and the other one hit her knee. She's going to be okay but will take a while to recover," The doctor says. I sigh a huge sigh of relief.

She's going to be okay. She's going to live. I start to tear up. I'm normally not a crier but damn, this girl means the world to me.

Jordan walks up and pulls me in in a hug. I hug him back.

"She's going to be okay Jord," I whisper sobbing.

"I know," Jordan says. "We'll find this son of a bitch who did this to her," he adds.

I just couldn't kill off Lily, that would have been way too cruel. :)
