The sound of the salt lake thrashing against the ground and the rain's heavy weight dropping on the ground echoed off the tall trees standing behind her

The sun went down, with the presence of only the moon comforting her. Too bad her moon was stitched by a thousand grey clouds, along with the somber hues of the night sky. The wind whistled to Cordelia, Whistles of terror and distraught. The sound of rain seemed to be the only thing distracting her from the heated flame that spread across her body- each sound of thunder would have her jump making her heart stop for just a moment.

'There was no way they'd keep me here for long' she thought

Hibernation hunting was soon, meaning she had to collect all the seaweed and kelp, and the worst part, hunt for fish. Because as always, they'd let Cordelia do all the work. And she'd rather do that than spend another second in this situation

She was fidgeting hard with the ropes that were keeping her from moving. They rubbed against her soft skin creating burning friction and marks to remind her of her 'silly mistakes' as the sirens liked to call them. As she was picking on the scratchy ropes, a piece of thread seemed to have gotten loose, using Cordelia's long delicately shaped fingers slowly tugged at the thread

With gleaming and content eyes, she watched as the thread grew longer and the ropes felt the ropes loose from her wrists. She kept pulling and pulling when abruptly she was paused

A ruffle came from the woods.

Her first thought was that a werewolf had found her and was going to rip her skin apart at an antagonizing pace. Although there was almost no chance of that happening seeing as it wasn't a full moon yet. Her thoughts lingered on a vampire, who would find her here, vulnerable, tied up, and suck every ounce of flowing blood from her neck and body, leaving her the emptiest she ever will be.

The brainless idea came upon her that if she closed her eyes hard enough, for long enough, whoever was out there would somehow fade into nowhere but existence. So she did, Cordelia squeezed her eyes as hard as she could, as long as she could. But woefully, curiosity cast the best of her,  and when she opened them, she couldn't believe the sight in front of her

Standing tall, and as handsome as can be,

Her breathing quickened and her heart began to thump at a rapid speed, thinking he was to hunt her- kidnap her, hold her hostage, and sell her to a cheap sloppy circus. She couldn't really see the tallboy's face as the moon was illuminating an iridescent glow behind him. His eyes also seemed to widen at Cordelia. She tried to wiggle out of the ropes tight grips only to feel a burning rub on her hand

He took a step closer to her, slowly and hesitantly. The rain was racing in a series of cascades and wild flows- Every step made a flood of anxiety drown her, her rosy red cheeks quickly flushed away from her face as if she'd seen a ghost, and every hair on her trembling body stood up in a straight line of goosebumps.

The boy had a wand gripped tightly in his right hand, a powerful warm glow emitting just from the end. Once he raised the light to his face, Cordelia immediately recognized his face

A whisper allured from her raspy throat 'Draco'. She recognized him not only a couple of hours ago when their faces were barely inches away from touching. She took some time studying his features and physique, his skin had been flushed with beautiful hues of light pink, and his silver gleaming eyes seemed to glow even more in the illuminating mellow that surrounded his face. He had a coat on him, along with a hood covering him from the heavy rain. The hood seemed to perfectly shape his visage. Just staring at his face, she forgot all her worries and, but the thoughts of what he- a human- might do to her, well

She was not scared, nor terrified. No nouns near as mere could describe what she was feeling right now

-

Draco took a step closer to the vision in front of him, hesitantly of course. He saw a girl, tied up with her arms over her head, clearly withering in pain. He thought he'd gone insane, the isolation, the time spent fixing the cabinet at nearly 4 in the morning, the self-deprecating thoughts that sprung into his head every second or so- it must've had some toll on him- some effect, right?

The mysterious creature clearly seemed terrified and flushed with fear. He could not see her face, although she was visibly shaking. Draco attempted to bring the wand towards it to get a better view of this 'hallucination' And once he did, an audible gasp along with a mumble of words seemed to escape her

With that, he approached her closer, now only 2 feet away from her.

He spoke up, ignoring the raging headache that had gone through his head

'What are you?'

-

Silence

No way of acknowledgment came from her. She had been overstruck by too much fear. The only sound coming from her seemed to be a simple whimper in pain. She wanted to scream for help, although she hadn't thought of anyone who would save her

In Cordelia's defense, his voice was almost inaudible by the thrashing of the waters and the pulse that seemed to beat in her ear as loud as each lightning bolt that came from the dark sky

''What are you?''

His voice this time was more stern and crisp, although a hint of nervousness seemed to overpass it all. She shook her head as a 'no' or a 'please just go back to where you came from'

The boy seemed to take a step closer, and with that, the thin thread she had been picking on for all this time finally seemed to snap.

She could feel his gaze as he watched her in fascination. The ropes were now fully off her, she bent herself to push the heavyweight that was preventing her from moving with very weak arms. It all weirdly seemed like second nature to her, her quick movements and powerful agility. Looking behind her, she gave a somewhat apologetic look and splashed back into the water

Before she could swim far away from trouble, she heard something ever so clearly

"I won't hurt you"
