Kathryn

Before me stood the girl that I was supposed to hate.

She was almost James's mate. She was beautiful, but not in an obvious way. Her face kinda dragged you in and I couldn't stop looking. She had dark long and thick hair compared to my light brown. She wasn't as tanned as me but she had beautiful skin. She was also taller and had more curves where I was very short and petite with little to no butt and small boobs.

I was standing there awkwardly feeling out of place all of a sudden. To make it even more awkward someone came into the apartment with all of my bags.

"Sorry to disturb you Alpha, but I've got Miss Clark's bags."

James looked from Rebecca to the guy. Then he quickly gathered himself.

"Thanks Andy, you can go put them in the 2nd guest room next to my room."

Rebecca looked at me puzzled and then realization dawned on her to who I might be. It was at that moment when Robert decided to leave this awkward situation.

"Yeah, I'm out. See ya later Jamie, Kathryn...lil sister." He said as he nodded in our direction and almost ran out of the room.

Take me with you!

Andy came back, bowed to James and nodded his head towards me and Rebecca before he left .

"Uh...should I maybe go?" I said as I quickly made way to the door aswell.

It surprised me who spoke next.

"No, not at all." Rebecca said looking at me. "I am Rebecca by the way, beta female until Bobby finds his mate."

She held her hand out towards me smiling.

"Wow, I did not expect this?" Cat voiced

Well me neither.

I smiled back shaking her hand. "Kathryn, nice to meet you." I didn't want to mention that I will be James's mate since she probably already knew that part.

"It's nice to meet you Kathryn. We should hang out, I'll show you around and introduce you to some of the other girls. If you want?" She said.

Wow.

I looked at James and he just looked so uncomfortable. I almost burst out laughing.

"That would be nice, thank you Rebecca." I smiled at her again.

"Great! I'll come and find you later." She says as she bowed to James. "Nice to see you again James."

And then she left.

James turned towards me with an apologetic face. Before he could say anything I spoke first. "James, really, it's fine. I know you have a past."

He grabbed my hand and led me to the couch. "I know you know, but I wanted to talk to you about her before you met her. Well obviously you know we wanted to see if we could be mates, but we took it too far before we could go for a run...we were...intimate. Grew quite close. And before you have any doubt I am in no way in love with her. I care for her, because she was and is a close friend. She is my best friend's sister as well."

"I understand James, she is very pretty though. I don't want there to be like an unmentioned competition between, I want no awkward tension." I said.

"I'm sure you won't, she was completely fine after the run. Her wolf was still in tact. It was afterwards that my wolf Kane said he could never really even feel her wolf before."

"Oh..." all of a sudden I was feeling insecure. This was moving so fast now. I am basically moved in to his place. Yes we were supposed to be mates but now I was wondering if I ever should've came.
