chapter 11: frustrations

After getting lost in each other's eyes for a long while, Levi cleared his throat, the once comforting atmosphere turning into a now awkward one in seconds.

Our once close proximity fading, as we moved away from each other, Levi placed his hand on the back of his neck, a slight blush on his cheeks.

I placed a hand on my cheek, feeling my warmth from blushing too much.

"Uhm, we should get going, or we'd be late." I said, still awkward.

"Y-yeah." Levi stuttered.

We already arrived at Petra's house, where the party was taking place. Me and Levi stood by the door, already hearing the loud music from outside.

We both stood outside the entrance.

An awkward silence took over us.

"Are we going in?" I murmured.

No response.

Levi reached in, his hand hovering over my hair, which was pulled back, taking off my scrunchie.

Levi leaned closer, so close that he could probably kiss my ear.

"I told you, short hair suits you, don't hide it." He whispers before pulling back and placing my scrunchie into his back-pocket

I gulped, feeling nervous.

"Let's go in then." Levi said, holding my hand as we entered the house.

Once we were in, we were both welcomed by loud music and loads of people dancing and drinking. Many people, who I've never seen before.

"Stay close to me." He looked at me as his scrutinising gaze held mine, scared that I would get lost.

I nodded.

Most of the party consisted of us sitting down and conversing with others. I didn't necessarily engage with the conversation Levi had with his friends, I just sat there and smiled, awkwardly.

His friends were curious about our relationship but Levi just brushed them off by changing the subject.

After awhile, Levi became distracted as he kept looking around. Was he waiting for someone?
