minhee falling in love with you, his best friend [fluff]

[ headcanon ]

- you and minhee hang out a lot, he's one call away- send him a message and he'll be in your front in a few minutes

- he likes your company a lot LIKE A LOT

- ready to drop whatever he is doing and is readily available to be with you whenever you ask him to drop by

- knows your favorite drink, food, flower, book, movie, scent— well, he probably have almost all your favorites memorized by heart

- he also has your antics memorized; the way you react to things

- please he'd probably take joy in mimicking your gestures and reactions- and yes, sometimes he teases you

- i don't think he'd be able to regard it as a romantic feeling by himself

- like perhaps one of his friends would go and tell him about how they noticed minhee's way of caring towards you, how he talks about you, and how the minhee with you around is different with the usual minhee

- like whenever you're around there's a sparkle in his eyes;

- when you're sad there's nothing but deep worry on his face- and the way he talks about you, a small smile on his lips— small yet packed with evident enthusiasm

- "minhee, do you actually love your best friend?"- "uhhh yes? y/n is my best friend. of course, i love them."

- "oh please, not that kind of love. you know what i mean. do you love love them?"

- he'd be unable to answer— he'll be confused. very confused.

- and this time he'd be a lot more conscious of his actions and reactions whenever he's with you- like he'll take notice of what he feels

- "why does that little gesture makes me smile?"

- "why does their laughter makes me happy?"

- "why do i want to be with them when we basically just separated two minutes ago?"

- "why do i want to spend more time with them?"

- "why is my heart beating fast over small things?"

- "why am i getting nervous?"

- minhee will not confess as quick though, he'll take his time to sort his feelings

- he's probably afraid of ruining your friendship as well because you know minhee loves your company and would like to be with you for as long as he can

- and to top that, he loves you

- he doesn't wish you to get sad or frustrated for not feeling the same way

- weighs the consequences; asking himself what will happen if he confesses to you

- like will that be worth it?

- the thing is minhee doesn't favor the idea of lying to you so as much as he's torn between keeping his feelings to himself or actually telling you about it, he'll probably be honest about it in the end

- not hastily though, his actions were probably planned and well thought of

- probably planned to confess and bring it up on your next hang out, but chickened out after the thought of being awkward or ruining your friendship comes to his mind

- but one night, as he was walking you home he finally gathered enough courage

- telling himself that whichever result he'll get after confessing, he'll respect what you feel and accept what could possibly come

- "y/n, i have a secret to say."

- and after you ask him about what it is, he'll continue as he stares at something else, afraid that if he looks at you he'll end up not confessing

- "after a long time of asking myself the same question, i've concluded that i've fallen in love with someone."

- "oh, who's the lucky one minhee?"

- "you." fixates his gaze at you. "i'm in love with you."
