A snitch
After hearing Jennette's words, the person immediately flees in hopes to prevent the angered princess that wants to hurt princess Athanasia.
Upon reaching the Emperor's Palace, the guard prevented the person from going further.
"Halt! State your business!"
The person looked bothered. "I need to talk to His Majesty, the Emperor."
The guard stared at the person, looking if there is any suspicious aura around.
"The Emperor is not here. He's in Princess Athanasia's palace, the Emerald Palace. The person nodded and started heading towards the Emerald Palace to catch the Emperor and have a word.
Fortunately, he spotted the Emperor who was about to leave. The person hurried and speak informally, even if it's against the rules.
"Your Majesty! Please, can I have a word with you?"
The person asked while breathing heavily. Claude's eyebrows shot up, after seeing the person be so informal in front of the Emperor.
Claude sighed heavily and nodded, they walked back to Claude's Palace. Felix kept glancing at the two and kept alert in case the person is a danger to the Emperor.
Upon arriving at his office, he ordered Felix a few things, and also ordered him to do something in secret that is connected to what Athanasia had mentioned.
After all the orders that Felix had to do, he politely bid his goodbye and left the room, glancing back at the two.
"Now, what business do you have, Ijekiel Alpheus."
Ijekial suddenly felt nervous but proceeded to convey what he needed to convey.
"Earlier, at the ballroom, Princess Jennette mentioned something about making Princess Athanasia pay for ruining her debutante."
Ijekiel couldn't believe it, he felt awkward, he didn't know he will become a snitch in his life, but he had to do it in order to protect the golden-haired princess.
"Pay?" Claude asked. Ijekiel nodded.
"The princess was angry that her party became awkward and gloomy after the scene with the other princess."
Claude nodded and take in the information slowly, and calming his mind before he storms out and grab the debutante's neck, especially after seeing the swollen cheek of Athanasia.
"I hope, the princess will be safe."
Ijekiel bowed and humbly asked to leave. His business was clearly informal. But Claude couldn't reprimand him since he mentioned something about the Athanasia's safety and dignity.
He couldn't believe that the teachers of that princess, were proudly bragging about her saying that she was ready to become a crown princess.
Claude's thought drifted back to the conversation between Claude and his vassals.
It's about him announcing the crown princess of the Obelian Empire.
Some nobles requested for him to choose since there are two princesses, but others disapproved of it and said the older princess should become the crown princess.
Jennette and Athanasia have close birthdays, but he doubts Athanasia's birthdate. He tried to ask the maid, Lilian York but the maid kept her mouth shut and repeated what Athanasia says about her birth date.
If Athanasia's claim that Jennette has green eyes are true, he'll know the truth about the child's mother. Since he only knows one woman who had green eyes and attached herself to him like a leech.
That's only the first step, the second one is to know who Athanasia's birth mother is.
