The Imperial Palace is buzzing with excitement, the other debutantes are also excited to relive their debutante together with Princess Athanasia.
The debutante princess is still clueless that her father planned something for her, she didn't question when the maids dressed her in an unusual glamorous way.
She wore a pastel pink dress with flower and bow accents, she's also wearing a sheer white cape.
Meanwhile, Claude is busy dressing up in his official military uniform, complete with a decorated, double-breasted frock coat, a fur-lined cape, trousers, and boots instead of his usual robes and flats.
"Your Highness..."
Claude looked in the mirror and saw his daughter's companion, Lucas, or so he calls himself the Wizard of the Black Tower.
"What?"
"That child... is a chimera..."
Claude halted.
He suddenly remembers Athanasia's statement a week before that child's debutante.
"She had long brown hair and a pair of a nice shade of green eyes..."
"That girl is not even human. She's completely made of black magic disguised with human flesh."
That made Claude stop and look at him. Black Magic. It is a forbidden law in the Obelian Empire, to whoever uses Black Magic will be heavily punished.
"Do you know why Athanasia can see that girl's eyes as green not jewelled?"
He asks the warlock. The moment that girl said that not to get his 'sister' sold, it infuriated him. And during the past few years, he acknowledges that Athanasia could be labelled as a genius, she understood her lessons quickly, all her teachers praise her for doing a good work
"Yours and Athanasia's mana is pure magic. Even I am still confused about how she sees it because when I look at the chimera, her eyes are jewelled, not green."
Lucas didn't know how the blonde princess sees it. But every time he asks her, her answer is always the same.
"It's green."
Lucas couldn't understand it, that he— the powerful Magician of the Black Tower, couldn't see what a debuting blonde princess can.
But it made him mesmerized, that someone can possibly learn from him as an apprentice and that person is Athanasia.
"For now, prevent that girl from coming near Athanasia."
Claude said.
They both walked out of the room, and Claude immediately ordered Felix to warn the other guards to not let the brunette cause any commotion, and as much as possible prevent her from entering the party.
"Understood, Your Highness."
Felix said before leaving to do what he is ordered to do.
They went to the Emerald Palace, and a guard announced that the Emperor is coming inside.
They were greeted by Lilian York and were informed that the Princess is still preparing, but Lucas' attention was elsewhere.
Lucas saw someone in a cloak in the corner of the room, trying to blend in with the shadows, the person was doing quite well but Lucas can clearly see that person.
'How did that thing get in here?'
