A Debutante! (part 1)
"Papa!"
After seeing her Father enter her chamber, Athanasia said in glee while her hair and face are getting dolled up.
She could see that her Father isn't wearing his usual attire but something more appropriate. It is still weird for the blonde princess to find out that they have a visitor but the Royal Family of Obelia got a late announcement.
"Are you not done yet?"
She grinned before she shook her head, Athanasia notices the impatience in her Father's voice.
'This is what you get for not letting me know immediately!'
Athanasia thought before humming and letting the maids continue their work.
From the mirror, she saw Lucas knocked at the opened doors of Athanasia's chamber to announce his presence.
The girl smiled a little at him, and he just stared at her before sitting down on a couch and munched at the treats.
'Such a snob!'
"So... who's arriving in Obelia, Your Majesty?"
Claude flinched and glanced around, Lucas caught the distress of the Emperor who's trying to surprise his daughter and saved him.
"An Emperor and Empress from a neighbouring country. They're doing business with someone here in Obelia."
Lucas answered and Athanasia just nodded lightly.
Claude silently sighed in relief but annoyed at the same time that tha warlock brat helped him cover his surprise debutante for his daughter. He glared at the back of Lucas' head, while the boy himself have a huge grin on his face.
Meanwhile, inside the Ruby Palace, After that woman left, she was alone wondering what happened. Jennette was in shock of the current situation.The sudden appearance of her so-called mother, the debutante party of the other princess and how she was going to get inside said party!
Staring back at the mirror, her eyes didn't change but remained in their emerald green shade. She waited and waited for it to turn back to jewelled eyes, but it never happened.
"Aww... Don't you have a party to go to?"
She looked at her back through the mirror once again and the same woman is there.
"Why are you doing this to me?"
"I am just trying to help you. Wouldn't you want to have a mother-daughter bonding with me and also become the crown princess?"
Jennette opened her mouth to answer but no words left her mouth. She was conflicted. A woman was inside her chamber, claiming that she was the princess' mother. Then, the Emperor organized a debutante party for the blonde princess and didn't invite her.
"Would you let her have a peaceful debutante when she ruined yours?"
The woman— Penelope taunted her.
She flinched slightly when the woman put her hands on her shoulders.
"I'll help you, let her feel what you felt when she ruined an important day of yours. It'll be my present for you as a mother!"
Penelope whispered in her ear while staring directly at her.
"How can I go inside that party? I'm not even invited nor requested to be there for appearance!" Jennette whined.
'Maybe this is why Claude looks at you as a daughter. This brat!'
"I can make arrangements for that! All you need to do is ruin it... nothing more."
Penelope said before disappearing again, leaving Jennette to plan how to ruin the blonde princess' debutante party.
Back to the Emerald Palace, Athanasia was finally done with her preparations. Guests have already started filing inside the ballroom, waiting for the party to start.
Claude escorted Athanasia, while Lucas and Felix walked slower behind the two. Felix caught sight of a shadow near the Ruby Palace when they were on their way to the waiting carriage.
And it's not only Felix who caught sight of it, Lucas as well. He groaned internally since he knows who that shadow is, and if it is leaving the Ruby Palace, then someone will make an appearance during the party. He couldn't let any disturbances happen on this day. He may not be well acquainted with Obelia's holidays or traditions, but he knew from all those years back, that a Debutante is one of the most important life of an upcoming young teen-adult. And he'll make sure that nothing will destroy it.
'Time to plan a "Plan B" if that Chimera joins the debutante party, especially since that woman will come to aid her.'
