"You should not have come." Godric says as he snaps Gabes neck and I gasp but then the sounds of people screaming have me jumping up 

"Bill!" I cry but Godric walks over to me and breaks my hand ties 

"No. I'm here, my child. Down here." He whispers and I tilt my head in confusion but then I see Eric rush in 

"Godric." Eric says as he drops to his knees 

"You were a fool for sending humans after me." Godric whispers 

"I had no other choice. These savages, they-- They seek to destroy you." Eric says looking down on the ground 

"I'm aware of what they have planned. This one betrayed you." Godric says looking down at Hugo

"He's with the Fellowship. They set a trap for us." I say trying to explain to Eric 

"How long since you've fed?" Eric asks Godric ignoring my statement 

"I require very little blood anymore. Save the human. Go on." Godric says looking at me with a gentle smile that I had not ever seen from a vampire

"I am not leaving your side until you are--" Eric starts but Godric stops him and brings him up from his knees 

"I can take care of myself." Godric replies and I shake my head annoyed 

"Come on, we have to go." I say running past Eric but he grabs me pulling me back to him 

"Spill no blood on your way out. Go." Godric hisses and Eric moves me out the door as we enter the foyer I see people evacuating 

"Brothers and sisters, we are on lockdown. Women with children, please take them to our classroom buildings. Men and able-bodied women, security personnel will provide you with stakes and silver just outside the chapel. Our Soldiers of the Sun are on their way to protect our church, but safely evacuate the building now. Brothers and sisters,
the hour is upon us." The pastors voice comes over the loud speaker and I sigh 

"I could have you out in seconds." Eric whispers peering out 

"There's kids out there." I whisper and he sighs 

"Now, those humans wouldn't think twice about hurting us." he says 

"Why didn't you bring Bill with you?" I ask and I watch as Eric passes me what looks like a dagger and I give him a questioning look but he ignores it

"His attachment to you is irrational. It clouds his judgment. He would kill every child in this church to save you." he says 

"Why aren't you?" I question remembering how much blood Eric usually spills and he turns to look at me 

"I'm following Godric's orders and getting you out, that's all." he says and I smile 

"He's your maker, isn't he?" I ask softly 

"Don't use words you don't understand." he whispers sadly 

"You have a lot of love for him." I say and he gives me a sad smile 

"Don't use words I don't understand." he whispers and I can hear some doors closing and the room seems to go quiet I watch as Eric moves out but I grab him gripping him tighter then I should 

"Eric, no." I whisper and he turns to look at me before he moves in closer until he's inches from my face

"Trust me." he whispers and I almost blush from how close we were but then he's turning around the corner before I can stop him 

"Oh, hey, y'all. How's it going? Steve sent me over to man the exit here. Think I can take it from here." he says mimicking a very bad southern accent that I feel like I should be offended by 

"By yourself?" someone asks him 

"Uh, yeah." he replies 

"You're big and all, but there's a vampire on the loose. Where's your stake?" the guy asks 

"Maybe I can borrow yours if-- if that's okay." Eric says and I peer around the corner to take a look 

"I can't do that." the guys says and Eric smiles but then he looses his accent 

"I'd very much like to borrow your stake." he says 

Glammer, stake 

"Stake!" I cry running around the corner towards them and I watch as Eric throws the guy back and then places a stake to the other one's neck "Eric! You don't have to kill him." I hiss and I watch as it looks like he's fighting with himself but then he throws it down and opens a door peaking out
