"Are you like, the head of the faeries or somethin'?" I ask the woman who had taken me from the cemetery and into this weird golden world full of people who looked more angelic than God themself.

"Oh, hardly. No, I'm your... I'm your godmother. You know, it's a..." she says

"I have a Faerie Godmother?" I ask

I'm the voice in your head. Every angel has one" she says but then she smiles and takes my hand "Come on. Let's enjoy the party." she states and she drags me with her

"Megs?" someone asks and I turn to see Barry standing there

"How long have you been here?" I cry pulling him into a hug and he smiled back at me

"We just got here. Jesus, can you believe this place?" He asks and then he shows me his godmother

"Well, we're going to get a drink. Once you two are finished chatting, mingle." My godmother says as she walks off

"Would you like a lumiere? A light-fruit." someone asks and I take it but a weird feeling has me not putting it in my mouth I look up to see my grandfather standing there and my mouth hangs wide open

"This is like biting into pure happiness. You gotta try this, Megs.
Yeah, hold on." Barry says biting into the fruit

"Hold on" I whisper as I rush over to my grandad

"Granddaddy Earl." I say and he looks up at me confused "it's me Meghan" I say and his eyes go wide open

"I just saw you last week. It was your birthday." he states and I shake my head

"Granddaddy, that was ten years ago" I whisper

"Oh, my Lord. It's... Your grandma, did she... Did she pass gentle?" he asks when I've caught him up on my life

"It was peaceful. She lived a happy life. Mama and Daddy, they were in a flood, so I have no idea. I try not to think about it. It's just me and Jason now." I say and he shakes his head

"Ten years! I can't understand how... I swear, I've only been here a few hours." he whispers

"You've been here all this time?" i whisper

"I... I must have lost track of time. It's just, everything seems so...
lovely." he states but the feeling of darkness comes over me

Granddaddy, can you hear me?

Yes. Yes, I can hear you.

This is a trap. We need to leave.

"A trap?" someone says out loud  "The trap is the world you've left behind. Oh, no need to bow. We're all friends here." a blonde woman who the voice belonged to states and I growl

"I'm sorry. I just have no idea who you are." I spit

"You can call me Mab. I am the one who sent for you. Have you had a try of the lumiere fruit yet?" she says holding it up to me and I scream as I slap it out of her hand

"I don't want any." I growl and she glares

"The future of our kind is in peril. A vampire breached our realm because he'd had a taste of angel blood which led him to the faes of course. Your blood. In the old kingdom, vampires nearly drank us to extinction. They drove us onto this plane." she states

"Well, it won't happen again. I'm staying away from vampires.
I can guaran-damn-tee you that!" I say but her voice changes into something scarier for a split second before it returns to normal

"Oh, I know. We can't have bearers of the fae on the human plane any longer. We've sown too many seeds with humans. Now it is time to harvest!" she cries

"Harvest? You're harvesting people?" I ask confused but she ignored me with a smile

"Fruit, please." she says holding it to my mouth
