May Be The Last Time

"Why is it happening so fast? Is it because she's fae?" I ask but the phone ringing interrupts us 

"It's mine." Jessica says 

"Are you gonna get it?" Bill asks as we all sit down in the living room 

"I ain't even sure I can stand up." Jessica whispers and Bill just smiles 

"In that case, I'll get it." Bill says walking up to the phone and I walk over as I see Bill handing Jess the phone and Jess begins talking fast to who I think is Andy when Jess is finally done with her phone call we all sit down again 

"Bill." Jess whispers and I look over seeing the Hep has grown on Bills neck

"This isn't happening. In your book you mentioned an experimental treatment.. in India?" I ask but he shakes his head 

"It's years away." he whispers and I sigh  

"Gotta be something to slow this thing down." I whisper 

"Megs there's no cure." he states 

"I refuse to accept that." I say and he smiles softly after a while we get Bill to bed and I leave both Bill and Jessica to sleep for the night. I quickly ring the nurse that I met at Fangtasia and she walks into Bills room with me 

"Mr. Compton. Mr. Compton." she screams and I watch as Bill gets up with fangs out and the Dr sighs 

"Put your fangs away, son, and meet me in the parlor." she says and i watch as she begins to look him up and down 

"Mm-mm. Nasty, nasty, nasty. Congratulations, Mr. Compton. They said it could not be done, but you have thoroughly grossed me out. " she says 

"Can you help him?" I ask but she ignores me 

"How many days ago do you believe you were infected?" she asks Bill and he looks at me 

"Don't look to her. I'm the one that asked you the question." she says and I sigh  

"He was exposed through a cut in my sisters arm. He drank my blood and got sick pretty much right away." I say 

"I'm sorry, but that's not how this virus works." she says with a laugh 

"Would it make any difference if Sookie was a halfling?" I ask and she sighs 

"A few weeks ago, I was called to the home of a sick vampire in Monroe. He had a not dissimilarly accelerated rate of infection. Went from stage one to stage three in 10 days. I was perplexed until he revealed to me... that his boyfriend was a Hep-V positive fairy. He was no halfling, mind you. He was the real deal. And even so, he didn't look anywhere near as bad as Mr. Compton does. Do you happen to know the name of your line?" she asks and i shrug my shoulders 

"I don't know the name. I guess I could ask Niall." I say and she drops her tools in shock 

"Niall Brigant?" she asks and I nod 

"Yeah, do you know him? He's my great-great-great- times-a-thousand-grandfather. Why?" I ask but I watch as she quickly gathers her things 

"I'm so fucking out of here. I'll show myself out." she says and the door shuts behind her. When I get back home I tell Sookie about what's happening in hope she can get our grandpa to help. When Sookie tells me the news and how Grandpa can't help us I run up to Bills doors 

"I'm not gonna leave you. I'm gonna stay with you till the very end, okay?" I yell as he opens the door and I watch him sigh before I pull him into a tight hug.
