And When I Die

"Hey there." Tara says as she enters the kitchen and I smile

"My nerves are shot." I say

"After everything we've been through... it's a miracle we're not screaming in a padded room somewhere." she says and I nod

"Tara... do you think Gran's in heaven?" I ask

"Well, I've always considered myself to be an atheist. But if heaven does exist... I'm pretty sure Adele Stackhouse would be, like, the president of it. Why you thinking about that, anyway?" Tara asks

"Marnie channeled Gran. Least I think it was her. She warned me about Antonia." I say

"Well, she did have all the sense in the family." Tara says laughing

"This morning... I keep feeling like she's here. I mean, like..."here" here. I know it's probably just some residual weirdness... from everything that's been going on... but I just can't shake this feeling." I say and Tara laughs

"What are we, like, magnets for fucking craziness or something?" she says and I sigh

"Lord, I hope not. Someday, I see myself growing old... and sitting on the porch with my grandbabies on my lap... just watching the sunset." I whisper

"I hope I get to sit on that porch with you someday." she says and I smile. Later I head into work

"Oh, is Halloween today?" I say as I walk in and see the make up on Arlenes face
"Yep" she says laughing

"Sam around?" I ask and I watch a scared expression cross her face and when she explains to me what happened I run into Sams office

"Come in." Sam says

"I'm sorry about Tommy. I just heard." I whisper

"I hadn't seen you in a while. Figured you had a lot going on." Sam says and I shake my head confused

"Sam. I was pretty sore after you fired me and all... but I would've been there for you." I say with a laugh

"I never fired you. You're the one who didn't show up for shifts." he says chucking and I tilt my head confused

"Not to be a stickler for details... but you told me I was nothing but trouble and to get my stuff and get out of here." I say and he quickly nods

"You know what? I wasn't myself that day. I'll tell you what. How about we let bygones be bygones, huh?" he says pulling me into a hug

"Does that mean I can have my job back?" I ask and he laughs

"As long as you can start right now. Lafayette's MIA and with it being Halloween... we sure could use an extra pair of hands." he says and I smile

"Can I have a new uniform? I kind of threw mine in the trash." I say shyly and he smirks looking like a devil

"No uniforms today." he says holding up bunny ears and I shake my head laughing

"You want your job back or not?" he says cheekily

"I'm gonna get you for this, Sam." I joke placing the bunny ears on my head and walking out with sams arm on my shoulder. When I work for a couple of hours I see Alcide walk into the bar and I smile

"So does this mean you aren't mad at me anymore?" I ask and he smirks

"It's hard staying mad at you. Especially in those ears." he says touching my head

"Listen, about the other night, I should have thanked you." I whispered

"I shouldn't have lost it like that." Alcide states

"I understand why you did. Where's Debbie?" I ask but I watch as he takes a drink of his beer looking upset "Oh, Alcide. What happened? She changed." I cry but he shakes his head
