I’ve moved on. Well that’s a lie but I am better though. I passed all my finals and decided I was a stronger person now and that it was for the good. I convinced Caroline to let me stay here during the holidays on the one condition that I Skype them on Christmas day. I had three days till then but I was enjoying myself. I died my tips black putting “back to black” by Amy Winehouse on repeat. It had snowed a few days ago and stuck. I don’t have a car because Caroline took it with her when she left but I wasn’t going anywhere farther than a block or two so I didn’t need one even if I had one. I flipped through the channels trying to decide between “Rudolph the red nosed rain dear” or “elf” both good movies. I finally decided on Rudolph just because it’s Rudolph and you can’t say no to that. I heated up some popcorn and settled in to watch the movie enjoying the single life, not.

Two more days until the Skype Caroline had called me about five times now making sure I hadn’t died or burned the building down. I’m not that bad of a cook geez. I was feeling a bit lonely but honestly I liked it I had been around a group of people for so long I had forgotten the enjoyment of being perfectly alone. I felt good enough to even look up the tour dates to see when they would be around here. Not until April but still it’s better than nothing. I wondered if they would take a break like they did sometimes last tour. I wanted them to be a few blocks away from me but they were across the ocean, how fun.

One more day, joy. I decorated the apartment going full out with every single decoration I could find. I invited some friends from school over for tonight since it is Christmas Eve so I wouldn’t be completely alone. I was excited about it just because I hadn’t had much social interaction with other people in a long time.  I didn’t have to do much decorating and cleaning since I had nothing to do all day. I curled my hair in big ringlets putting half up. I put on the ugliest Christmas sweater I had on and black jeggings with combat boots and white knitted socks sticking out of the boots. The sweater covered my butt and a little bit of my thighs but not enough to be considered a dress. I spent the day making our Christmas dinner which I was still finishing up the last bits and pieces of. The doorbell rang and I hurried over straightening my sweater before opening the door to find Anna and Penelope standing there in their ugly Christmas sweaters as well. I let them in and showed them into the kitchen I only had about five girls coming over and a few might bring their boyfriends but it was just a little get together

“How has your break been going?” Penelope asked me sipping on her wine glass

“It’s good, kind of lonely” I told her smiling and stirring the stew

“Yeah” she paused for a second “do you wish you were on the tour?” she asked hesitantly

I didn’t turn to face her but blinked looking straight ahead “a little bit, do you?” I replied smoothly going back to stirring the stew quickly

“Kind of, but I wasn’t invited” she answered suspiciously I could feel her eyes on my back

I turned around taking my wine glass and sipping it “I love your sweater” I laughed looking at the big rain dear with a three-D bright red nose. On the back it was a snowman with a carrot nose that stuck out. Anna came in and we talked for a while I finished up the dinner but kept it on the stove to keep it warm. The doorbell rang
