Y/n POV
It has been a week and it was pretty chill around the house, we had a few parties to attend and people came over here and there but I didn't really see Nick around much and today is my families dinner for close relatives is usually the one they do a couple weeks before the New Year's eve party and its in a restaurant.
I get dressed walking down the stairs as I wait for my brother cause I was going over to restaurant with him as I watch them get down I smile and we start to leave. Arriving at the restaurants we take our seats but the entire time I couldn't see Emma. At first I thought she was already there but then she wasn't.
S: Hey girl
I hear Serena as I smile watching her walk up to me
Y/n: Hey, how are you
I ask as she nods
S: Good, you?
She asks as the two of us take a seat on table near by
Y/n: I'm good the usual....yo but seriously have you read the new semester info
I say as she nods
S: Yeah I saw my course had the longest graph and the class hasn't even started
She says as I chuckle
Y/n: Right
I answer as she does the same, as we continue to talk we see Nick walk in, he lightly smiles towards everyone but I can't help but notice he has a frown of emotions building on his face, I bite my lip lightly watching him talk to my brother and a couple other guys, he was really trying to be okay I wonder what happened
S: So what do you think
I hear Serena as I snap out of my thoughts and glance at her
Y/n: Huh sorry?
I answer as he smiles
S: No its fine, you good
I nod
Y/n: yeah but what were you telling me
I ask as he smiles
S: I saying that you need to get cuffed soon so we can go on a double date
I chuckle sarcastically as she nods smiling

I walk out of the bathroom and back to where everyone was when I see Nick standing at the balcony alone. I raise my eyebrow about to go to talk to him but then back up maybe I shouldn't, he looks upset but ugh maybe I should. I walk a couple steps forward seeing he heard footsteps he turns around
Y/n: Hey
I say lightly as he gives me an emotionless look
Y/n: Are you okay
I ask wondering why he wasn't answering me so I decided to get straight to the point
N: I'm fine
He answers annoyed
Y/n: You don't seem fine
I answer fidgeting with the ring on my finger as he takes something a paper out of his pocket and hands it over to me
Y/n: What is this?
I ask as he signals me to read it
N: Read it
He offers as I do opening it up I see it was written by Emma
Dear Nick,
Look I know I should have said this over text but I just wanted it to write it down, I'M leaving for a bit, I need the space and I need to modelling opportunity and Liam loves me and I love him. I know this meet hurt but I'm breaking up with you I don't like control

I close the letter slightly turning it around to see a picture of Emma with Liam, I sigh lightly looking back at him not having words to say
Y/n: I don't know what to say
I answer as he nods
N: That was my reaction exactly
He says I could tell he was sad
Y/n: What about her parents, I didn't even I mean I haven't seen her around for the past couple of days but I didn't know she would just leave
I answer handing the letter back to him
N: I know after our fight the other day I thought we can fix it I could give her the promise ring and we'll be okay I never told her not to take the opportunity but I told her there will be better ones I never thought she was cheating on me. She texted me that she told her parents and that I shouldn't worry of her anymore
Her explains as I take a step closer, I didn't know what I can do to help him or make him feel better
Y/n: I'm sorry
I say as he nods
N: I don't know what I did wrong, I gave her a whole year and that's how she repays me for everything I did
He says as I look right into his eyes biting my lip slightly he then faces the view, I go over standing next to him
Y/n: You shouldn't be blaming yourself
I say as he doesn't really say much, so I decide to give him the time he needs
