Y/n POV
I was cutting a branch of lettuce for salad as I feel someone walk up to me, I feel the breathing right next to ear. I glance over seeing Nick as he smiles
Y/n: What is it
I ask as he chuckles
N: Actually I wanted to say thanks
He says as I clean up the table and put the salad in the fridge for dinner later I then glance back at him
Y/n: Thanks for what?
I ask as placing one hand on my hip then moving it
N: For helping me out today, I submitted the file and I hope your Dad likes it
He says as I nod as he continues to look at me
Y/n: It's fine
I say as he smiles lightly....ugh that freakin smile
N: Are you ever going to come back to work. I miss you being in the office next to me
He says making me look down then back up moving a strand of my hair. I do miss going to work and smiling every time he walked the corner. And I could get lost in his eyes but I'm over that and I have something with Brandon
Y/n: Yeah I don't know I have to focus on school and-
N: Really and since when did that become a problem your like one of the smartest girls I know
He adds, what does he want from me
Y/n: What are you doing
I ask as he makes a questioning face
N: What...
Y/n: This, your-
He takes a step closer into my eyes
N: Look I know that you and I aren't together, you have this thing going on with Brandon although I don't like it anyways and I have this thing Emma can we at least be friends
He says as I look at him thinking what's going on in this head
Y/n: I -
N: I miss you and I just hanging out, we were friends before....just friends so why can't we just be friends. Act civil with one another
He explains as I sigh then nod lightly smiling I mean what's the harm in that
Y/n: Ok fine, we can be friends
I say as he smiles at lightly
N: So you have any plans for today
He asks his fingers lingering on the table as I lightly shake my head
Y/n: Not really
I answer lightly fidgeting with my fingers
N: So maybe you and I can watch a movie
He says as I sigh thinking that this might not be the best idea
Y/n: I guess it shouldn't be a problem
I reply as he nods smiling

Nick and I were sitting on the couch, pretty awkward not saying much it was kinda weird. I mean what am I supposed to say to him oh hey I was like in love with you but then you kissed your ex cause she's pregnant with your baby.
Yeah great way to start of a conversation. I wonder what's going on in his head I mean I could just hear the pressure Emma puts him through but I mean he choose to be with her.
I snap out of my thoughts and look back at the screen seeing it was particularly the end of the movie the where the guy and girl meet ugh he gives her this beautiful speech and I was feeling teary.
I sniff as the credits roll wiping the little but of water on the side of my eyes. I glance over at him as he was already looking at me. I lightly smile then look away, there was so much distance even though we were sitting so close.
N: Y/n can I tell you something
He says as I look at him, I nod in a questioning tone
Y/n: Sure
I answer back
N: I'm nervous
He says as I raise my eyebrow wondering what he means
Y/n: For what?
I ask as he sighs turning around slightly looking at me as I do the same
N: Well about the baby and everything with Emma like I don't even know what I'm doing. I mean she just shows up one day telling me I'm having a kid and I have so many thoughts like what if I'm a bad dad
He says as I immediately shake my head I sigh and then look into his eyes
Y/n: Nick, you are not going to be a bad dad, your a vert nice person, caring and respectful any-
I look down then back up this might hurt to say
Y/n: Any girl would be lucky to have you and this baby will definitely be amazing
I say as he gives me a look of sincerity as I feel like I should go before the recycle of feelings comes back
N: Thanks
He says in a light whisper
N: you know you always have a way with your words, that's what made me kiss you the first time
He adds as I gulp
Y/n: Mhm, well I should go
I say getting up and walking away before he could stop me
