S1 E4: Things fall apart

Roxie comes in and wakes me up. I get dressed and go to start making breakfast. I get my daily injection. While I am eating, Roxie puts a delivery box on the table, and says, "This is for you."

Roxie and Dave go outside to call Ms. Dearing about something. Since they couldn't reach her they both left to talk to her personally. They write a note. Yaz woke up next. I gave her the note. Sammy and Ben walk down. Sammy asks, "What smells so good?"

Kenji who just came down says, "Temp's cooking."

Ben looks surprised, "You can cook?"

"Well, yeah. I've been able to cook for a few years now."

Everyone looked shocked to say the least. Yaz passes the note around. Ben asks, "Can you make us breakfast?"

"Sure, why not."

I turn around to make them breakfast. I could see Kenji trying to stealthy get to the box. I say, "Kenji, I can see you."

"Just curious."

"Let me finish making breakfast, then we will all find out."

As I finished cooking everyone's food, I could tell that Sammy and Kenji were dying of curiosity. Yaz seems curious but not wanting to push. I pull the box over to me, and open it. Inside is a note which says,

Dear Tem,

I know that it is not your birthday, but I decided to send you presents anyway. I hope you're not that mad. Don't worry about your parents. They are throwing more fits worthy of a toddler now that you're gone. I know that you might not care but thought you should know.

P.S. Enjoy yourself.

Inside are a multi-purpose cookware, a cooking set, a portal grater, a portal bender, two spice kits, two cameras, Dry Shampoo, a chair and tent combo, a fast drying towel, and water bottle with a filter in it. Thank god that it was Aunt Alice and not my parents. She was right that I don't really care. As the others are heading to the common room, I put them into my big backpack. Then I take it to the common room with me.

Ben and Kenji are angry with each other. Sammy and Yaz are sitting next together. Ben was drawing. I am organizing my backpack. I have a bad feeling. Darius comes down, and says, "What up, Camp Cretaceous? WOO-HOO!"

Dead silence. Sammy and Yaz look at him, look at each other, then go back to Yaz's sketchbook. Ben loudly sips his juice box. Kenji leans back in the chair he is in, shaking his head. He says, "Not in a 'woo-hoo' mood this morning, Darius. Not after yesterday. Trekking through a rainstorm will do that."

Ben says looking past Darius at Kenji, "We only had to walk because you crashed our gyrosphere."

Kenji glares at Ben. Ben moves so that Darius is in between them again. Darius says trying to excite everyone, "Today's kayak day! Who doesn't wanna paddle alongside dinosaurs? Real dinosaurs! It's going to be awesome... right?"

Again no reaction. Darius then noticed two people missing. He asks, "Wait... where are Dave and Roxie?"

"The babysitters took off early and left this," Kenji says, handing over the note. Darius starts to read Dave's side, then Roxie's translation. I say as he finished, "I was awake when they left. They don't know when they will be back."
