I hated you (Fuyuhiko x reader)

Y/N's POV

All of us stood there in a daze as Peko Pekoyama was being dragged around like a puppet by Monokuma. Fuyuhiko suddenly ran out into the field, and got slashed by Peko's sword.

Her eyes widened as she ran up to him, and cradled him in her arms. The two of them were overwhelmed by Monokuma's minions.

Suddenly, Monomi said that Monokuma had to save Fuyuhiko since he wasn't the one who deserved the punishment. So an ambulance came out of nowhere, and took Fuyuhiko away.

Everyone started walking away, but I stayed put. My chest hurt. Ever since we got stuck on this island, I hated Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu with a passion. I mean, he was the leader of the biggest yakuza family out there!

"But no one deserves that...not even him. Even if we verbally fought each other every time we saw each other, and even if we hate each other...no one should go through this."

"Y/N, are you alright?" Chiaki came up to me and asked. I nodded absentmindedly as Chaiki gently grabbed my hand, and started pulling me away.

She lead me all the way back to the first island, and guided me back to my cabin. I handed her my key, and she unlocked my cabin. She had a look of concern on her face.

"Are you going to be alright?" I nodded. She seemed like she wanted to say more, but she left my cabin. I closed the door behind her.

I stumbled over to my bed, and fell face first onto the soft bed. My mind was blank, and who could blame me? After witnessing two deaths in such a short span, I didn't know what to think anymore.

After a while, my eyes started to shut on their own, and I fell into a dreamless slumber.

-in the morning-

I awoke to someone knocking on my door. I slowly got up, and went over to the door. When I opened it, I was surprised to see Hajime standing there. We hadn't really talked much since we got here.

"Y/N, we explored the new island earlier. Fuyuhiko is at the hospital on that island. He's doing alright, but he lost an eye." Hajjme explained. I blinked a few times before rushing out of my cabin, and started running.

"Why am I relieved about this? I didn't cause this, and I didn't like Fuyuhiko before, so why?"

I didn't really have an answer for those questions. All I knew is that I had to go see Fuyuhiko. I noticed a few other people who seemed to be heading back from the island, like Sonia and Akane. They gave me confused looks as I kept running.

By the time I got to the front of the hospital, I was nearly out of breath. I walked into the hospital, and started wandering around. I peeked inside the rooms until I saw Mikan outside one of the rooms.

"O-Oh! A-Are you alright?!" She asked as I hunched over. I nodded as I gasped for air.

"Ran...from....cabin..." I tried to explain through gasps. I took a few deep breaths before standing up straight.

"I-If you want t-to see Fuyuhiko, he's in h-here..." Mikan moved aside. I hesitantly reached for the doorknob, and opened the door.

When I stepped inside, I saw Fuyuhiko looking out the window of the hospital, seemingly lost in thought. My body wouldn't move, and I couldn't think of anything to say.

"Why the hell are you here?" He spoke in a different tone than usual. He sounded so...emotionless. I clenched my fists.

"I....I don't even know. We've been at each other's throats this whole time. But I guess I....wanted to see if you were okay." He glanced at me with his one remaining eye.

"Well, I'm alive. So you can get the fuck out now." My clenched fist shook a little bit as I turned around. I glanced over my shoulder.

"You know, it's not good to distance yourself from people who are worried about you. You'll end up completely alone in the end if you keep doing that."  I was about to leave the room, but I heard a single word.

"Wait." Fuyuhiko said.

"What?"

"Y-You know...you aren't so bad when you're not yelling and shit." I smirked slightly.

"And you're not so bad when you don't have a short temper." He gritted his teeth, and smiled.

"Was that a joke about my height?"

"Nope. Not at all." He let out a single chuckle.

-time skip-

After that, me and Fuyuhiko spent more time with each other. Sonia kept asking me how we got along so well all of a sudden, and I just shrugged her questions off.

One day, we were walking around the main island, and we decided to sit down on one of the benches. He glanced at me, then quickly looked away.

"Hey, why are you nice to me now?" He suddenly asked. Without any warning, my cheeks felt a little warm.

"I-I don't know..." I looked at his face. He now wore an eyepatch over his lost eye. I subconsciously lifted my hand up, and cupped his cheek.

"W-What the hell are you doing?"

"I'm not sure..." I moved my hand down, and intertwined my hand with his. He tensed up for a moment before relaxing his arm.

"N-No one else can know about this, okay?" Fuyuhiko blushed a little bit. I nodded silently.

3rd POV

"They are like a match made in heaven!" Sonia whispered excitedly.

She had dragged Chiaki to come along with her to spy on the two of them. Chaiki smiled softly as she looked at the two of them.

"Yeah. They're like Zelda and Link." Sonia gave her a curious look. She figured it was just more gamer talk and continued to watch the couple.

After a few minutes, Fuyuhiko leaned over and kissed Y/N's quickly. Sonia almost gave her position away, but managed to keep calm.
