Y/N's POV -dream-

"Don't touch me, plebeian!" A young blonde boy with glasses slapped my small hand off of his shirt.

"T-This came out of your pocket..." The young version of me nervously held up a small stack of money.

"What? Do you want some kind of reward for giving it back to me? Is that why you're giving it back to me?" He spat. I shook my head.

"No. I just wanted to give it back to you."

"How idiotic can you be? I just hit you, and yet you're trying to give me this back?"

I was confused by his question. Wouldn't anyone else in my situation do the same thing as I did?

"M-My mother told me that I should be nice to everyone. That includes those who are mean to me." I explained.

He stared at me for a few moments. He suddenly scoffed, and turned around.

"Keep it. I don't need it. You've already contaminated it with your commoner filth." He began walking away, and the I called out to him.

"Thank you! I'll be sure to pay you back someday!" The boy with glasses glanced back at me, and sighed.

He mumbled something under his breath before walking away. I clutched the money tightly in my hands as I hurried home to tell my mom about what just happened.

-dream over-

I slowly opened my eyes, and let out a sigh. I had been having that dream a lot lately, and I knew why.

I stood up, and stretched before getting ready for school. I had managed to get into Hope's Peak Academy, a school of elite students with talents.

Once I was ready, I left my dorm room, and started walking towards the large school. It was a nice day. There wasn't a cloud in the sky.

My mind kept replaying the dream I had over and over again. It was a very important memory to me, and ever since that day I hoped that I would somehow meet that boy again.

And I did.

Well, I haven't really talked to him, but  positive that it's the same boy; blonde hair, glasses, and the air of arrogance that surrounds him.

His name was Byakuya Togami, the Ultimate Affluent Progeny. Every day I try to ask him if he remembers me, but I get so shy and nervous that I always chicken out.

I let out another sigh as I entered the school, and walked towards my classroom. When I entered the room, I noticed that everyone was already inside.

"Good morning, Y/N!" Taka practically shouted as soon as I entered.

"Good morning." I whisper before sitting down at a desk. I glanced at Byakuya, who was reading a book of some kind.

"It's been two months since class started, and I haven't been able to ask him about it..."

I noticed that Toko was glaring at me, and I quickly looked away from Byakuya. It's not because I was scared of her, but because she would probably lecture me on why I should "stay away from Master Byakuya."

"Is everything okay, Y/N?" Hina asked as she plopped down in the desk in front of me.

"Mhm."

"Are you sure? You seem gloomier than usual."

"Yeah, just a little tired. Nothing major."

-time skip-

"I can do this...I can do this."

I nervously fiddled with my hands as I walked towards the library. I knew Byakuya spent time in there since he always had a book on him.

When I opened the doors, I saw him sitting at the small table. He didn't seem to notice me.

"W-What are you doing here?" I jumped as I heard Toko's voice behind me.

"I just want to get a book." I lied. She examined me for a few moments before backing down.

I took a deep breath before walking inside of the library. The smell of aged books hit my nose, and I walked over to the table before reaching into my bag, and grabbing a small stack on money.

I had kept it on me since the second day of school. I didn't know when I would have the courage to ask him, so I always leave it in my bag.

"Why are you here?" Byakuya said in disgust. I nervously held out the money, and he looked at it. I couldn't read the expression on his face.

"Y-You may not remember me, but when I was a little girl, I tried to give you back some money that fell out of your pocket.

In the end, you let me keep it, and I told you that I would pay you back someday. Because...that money saved me and my mom. I wouldn't be alive because of you. So I'm here to pay you back." I explained.

"I don't recall doing anything of the sort." He said with no emotions.

My chest hurt. After all of this time, I thought I had found the person that had saved my family's life. But now, that boy could be anywhere in the world by now.

"I-I...see. Sorry for...bothering you." I tried to sound fine, but I really wasn't. I felt a couple of tears roll down my cheek, and I quickly hurried out of the library.

3rd POV

After Y/N ran out of the library, Byakuya glanced up, and noticed a few tears had fallen onto the table. She had also left the stack of money by accident.

In truth, Byakuya did remember. He hadn't given her that money out of kindness, or because she had touched it with her "commoner hands."

In truth, he had been puzzled by her. All his life he was taught that everyone would try and take advantage of him because of how much money he had.

Not her though. If what she said was true, then she could've just run off with that money, and still would've been fine without interacting with him.

But instead she decided to try and give the money back to him. Byakuya was so stunned that he just let her keep the money since he didn't know how to respond to her actions.

"What an odd girl..." He mumbled before closing his book, and picked up the money.

He left the library, and Toko followed behind him. Byakuya glanced over his shoulder, and glared at her.

"Go take a shower. You smell like a filthy pig." Toko quickly nodded before hurrying off.

Byakuya decided to check the classroom first since no one would be inside it. When he slid the door open, he saw Y/N hunched over her desk, and resting her head in her arms.

She was rolling an eraser on the desk mindlessly. Some tears were falling from her eyes as well. He silently walked up to her before speaking.

"Why are you crying, plebeian?" That word made Y/N look up in surprise.

"W-What...did you call me?" She asked.

"I believe I don't need to repeat myself." He glanced away from her.

"B-But you said-"

"I apologize for deceiving you."

"I forgive you. After all, My mother did tell me that I should be nice to everyone. That includes those who are mean to me."
