Chapter fifty eight

10 January

Katie

Everyone was back at school already. Andi wanted to talk to me about something when I'm back in school.
Marlene and Lily stayed with me. I was planning on telling mom about me and Marlene... Somehow.

Mom was cleaning her room. I was packing my bag for hogwarts.
Marlene was sitting at the window and watching me.
Lily was downstairs reading something.

'Hey. The Ministry is here.' Marlene said looking outsides the window

I looked outside and saw Lucius Malfoy and his boss Cornelius Fudge.
I went downstairs and opened the door.

'Hello Miss Snow. Is your mother home?' Mr. Fudge asked

'She is. Why?' i asked

'We need to talk to her.' Mr. Fudge said

'Come in.' i said

They came insides and sat down in the living room. I went upstairs to mom's room.

'Mom? The Ministry wants to talk to you... Or us.' i said

Mom left the clothes on her bed and we went downstairs.

'Look if my husband has been missing work. Then I'm sorry, but i can't help you.' mom said

'Mrs. Snow. Please sit down.' Mr. Fudge said

Mom sat down on the couch.

'We are very sorry to announce that your husband, Mr. Jake Snow has been killed.' Mr. Fudge said

My heart stopped for a split second. My eyes got watery. Everything around me disappeared. For a minute it was just me. I know I was in the living room with everyone around me, but i wasn't. One minute. Only one minute. But then i came back to reality. My father was dead. And it was... Sad. But i didn't know him. My mother on the other hand did. I sat down next to her and holded her in my arms. She was in shock. She was crying in silence. She might have just found out dad cheated, but they've been together for years. They were in love. She hated him for the last weeks. But right now... She lost her husband. All the bad things he did, didn't matter.

'Do you now who did it?' i asked

'Not yet. But we're working on it. We'll let you know as soon as we do. We'll leave now.' Mr. Fudge said

'Mhm.' i mumbled

'How is she?' Marlene asked

'Not great. She's been in her room the whole time. She hasn't been eating much. I don't know what to do.' i said

'And you? How are you?' she asked

'I- I don't know... I don't know how i feel. His dead is somehow good in so many ways, but he is my father and i don't know...' i said

Someone knocked on the door. I stood up and opened it. It was Mr. Fudge and Malfoy.

'Have you found out who killed my father?' i asked

'Yes.' Mr. Fudge said

'Maybe.' Malfoy said

'Well...?' i asked

'You're under arrest for the murder of Jake Snow.' Mr. Fudge said

'What?' i asked loudly

Mr. Fudge took out his wand and tied my hands behind my back. Malfoy took my wand.
