"Would you stop moving already Caz," Specs scolded. "I'm tryin' ta help yous."

"But I don't wanna," I complained. "That stuff smells worse than Race's socks."

"Hey!" my brother protested.

"Don't even try an' deny dat one," I smirked.

"Just hold still. The faster ya take it the faster it's over with."

"I'm not a kid Specs."

"Then quit actin' like ya one," he said. I rolled my eyes before taking the spoon and drinking the disgusting liquid. I nearly choked as it went down. I shivered in disgust.

"We should hire a betta doctor. I think ya poisoned me."

"Ah, quit ya griping," Specs said placing the bottle back inside the first aid kit.

"See ya Specs," Race said, meeting the kid's gaze.

"Um, I guess I'm going den." The boy shook his head before leaving me and my brother alone.

"Ya wanna talk about anything?" Race asked.

"Such as?"

"The kidnapping?"

"Nope."

"Albert?"

"Definitely not."

"How 'bout-"

"You know what I do wanna talk about?"

"What?" He raised an eyebrow at my tone.

"Andy." He visibly tensed.

"You got to veto two so I get to do the same. Different topic."

"Not fair," I muttered.

"So fair," he mocked, slapping my head. I pushed his hand away.

"If I agree to talk about Albert, will you talk about Andy?"

"No can do sista," he grinned.

"Ugh, I'll get it out of you one way or another."

"Ya still mad at Albert?"

"I thought we weren't talking about him."

"We're not. Technically. We're talking about how yous mad at him."

"You're such a nitwit," I laughed. "I'm not mad, just annoyed is all."

"Because...?"

"I don't even know. He just... He's being so stubborn right now. I was heading to da bathroom and passed him in the hall and he wouldn't even look at me. It's like he just wants to forget that we were ever friends. I mean, did our friendship really mean so little ta him?"

"Caz, he's doing dis because your friendship meant so much ta him."

"Yeah well it sure doesn't feel like that."

"He's scared." I scoffed.

"I know I'm just so frightening."

"That's not what I meant. And you kinda are." I gave a small laugh at that.

"Then what did ya mean?"

"He's scared because he doesn't want to lose you."

"I don't get it! How would he be losing me?"

"Because he cares about you. And I don't mean as a friend." I groaned.

"Well he has a funny way of showing it. Ya know Race, I understand what yous tellin' me and all, but I'm never gonna believe you until I hear Albert say those words himself. Until then, I'm just gonna have ta pretend that I'm not confused and that I don't feel like I've lost my best friend."
