"Can anyone tell me what this indigent is?" Conscious asked the afternoon potion class full of Gryffindors and Slytherins. Hermione shot up her hand first. "Unicorn blood."
"Correct Ms. Granger, though again let's give the other students a fair shot." She replied.
Today Horace had left the class to her as he needed to travel to gather ingredients for the upcoming classes. So far they have been reviewing the ingredients they still had, unfortunately Horace was still to skeptical of the girl to allow her to brew potions with the entire class but she didn't mind, it was less work for today.
"For the remainder of class, please review the next three potions and begin to write how they are made and used each about half a page shall be fine. Begin please." She instructed putting away the last parts as the students groaned taking out their notes.
Harry opened Toms, no his textbook looking at the future lessons, seeing the directions have been changed just like everything else.
"You really should return that book Harry, if you had any pride." Hermione whispered. They had been fighting over this book for the last week.
"Its a useful book." Harry shrugged as he begun writing.
"It's cheating!"
"It's a different way of learning." Harry corrected. "Besides, I told you to use it if you feel the need to, we can share it."
"Again that's cheating!"
"Calm down Hermione, we all know you are the brains here, just because Harry is using that ratted book doesn't make him smarter than you." Ron yawned as he laid his head on the table. "No offence mate."
Harry frowned. "I'm plenty smart."
"If you were smart than hand in that book! Especially the person who used it was him ." Hermione bickered.
"Why are we arguing over a book? I'm not stupid, and I find the notes more helpful than the actual textbook itself." Harry defended himself, something he had to do more and more these days.
"We aren't calling you an idiot Harry, just trying to make Mione feel better." Ron said.
"I apologize Harry, it's just we're all working hard and it seems you get to bypass it." Hermione frowned.
"I'm not! I'm still putting in the work just as hard as all of you." Harry shot back. "Fine, i'll get rid of the book seeing it effects you so much."
"It just seems unfair."
"Life isn't fair Hermione!" Harry snapped, his eyes on fire, sick of how they always have to bicker with him. Life has never been fair and for once, this one time it felt like life was finally on his side but it seemed he couldn't even enjoy a slice of fairness.
"Mr. Potter, Ms. Granger." Conscious spoke as she stopped at their table. "Please refrain from arguing in my class, Mr. Potter come work at my desk, Ms.Granger if I can still hear you, then I will send you into the hall. Understood?"
"Yes." They both muttered as Harry packed his things as Hermione shot him an apologetic look, though she got nothing in return.
Harry used the desk that was placed next to Horaces table before continuing his work, Conscious continued walking around helping students before joining him at Slughorns desk.
"Trouble in paradise?" She asked quietly.
"They think this book is a way for me to check this class." Harry scoffed. "And it's unfair I get it, as if fairness has never shown me a bright side. I mean, I do the work and I take in both your notes and the textbooks isn't it better it widen myself to different methods?"
