3rd POV

~Several Days Later~

It was finally Lunch Time as students came into the cafeteria. The First-years had arrived in the cafeteria chatting away, not so aware of what's happening.

"Ffna~ I'm starving! The day feels so much longer when we have PE in the morning, y'know!" Grim yelped out.

"Dude, you get super hungry whether or not we've got PE." Ace said to Grim, but he soon noticed something. "... Hm?"

"What's up? Seems everyone is interested in something on the wall." Deuce said, pointing to the amount of students pilling up at the posters. The First-years went to where the students are. "It says... "National Magic School Joint Culture Festival: Vocal & Dance Championship. On-Stage Performer Audition"?" Deuce read what the poster said. "Ooh, it's about the culture festival."

"It's on TV every year so I usually ended up watching, but I didn't know they were selected through auditions." Ace added.

"I usually just skip the VDC when it's on. It wasn't really my type." Y/n muttered out.

""Come all with pride in their song and dance! This is your chance to make your pro debut!"" Ace continues to read waht the poster says. ""Take your spot at the top of all high school students! If your team is chosen as a finalist on the day of the event... You will earn the prize of five million Madol to be equally divided amongst yourselves"."

"FI-FIVE MILLION MADOL EQUALLY SPLIT!?" The boys screeched out.

"Holy stars." Y/n muttered out.

"That is correct. Isn't it splendid?" Soon enough, Crowley popped out of nowhere like usual.

"GAHH!! YOU SCARED ME!!" The boys screeched out as they turned to the Headmaster. Y/n was unfazed by this by now. She was used to the crow to pop in and out always out of nowhere.

"Headmaster, think you could stop just popping out of nowhere?" Ace yelped out to Crowley. "An Y/n, why aren't you fazed by this?"

"I'm used to him popping out of nowhere by now." Y/n said to Ace.

"Oya, apologies. It's not my intention to scare you." Crowley apologized to the First-years. "The reason we can provide a prize like that for the Vocal & Dance Championship is... Because we have received an enormous number of sponsors for this event. VDC is on a much greater scope than a normal musical contest. Finalists in this event are likely to receive a variety of debut offers from entertainment and music labels. It wouldn't be a stretch to say you could become buddies with an overnight sensation. You can ignore your ties to the school and dedicate yourself to chasing after your future through this music battle. You have to offer up a worthwhile reward to get the elites to show up."

"That makes sense. For the sponsors, this is a chance for them to find a real money maker, so..." Ace mumble out. "... Five million Madol is pocket change for them."

"With that much money, I could buy a whole mountain of the 300 Madol high quality tina cans!" Grim beamed in delight.

"Is tuna all you've been thinking of?" Hooty sighed at the cat.

"Wait, wait, wait. It says here that the prize is split equally between the team members." Deuce said. "So a four person team would mean everyone gets.... Five million divided by four is.... One... One million... Three..."

"1.25 million Madol. You could buy 4000 of the 300 Madol tuna cans." Ace said.

"Woohoo!!! 4000 Cans!!" Grim yelped out in delight.

"That was some fast math." Hooty mumbled out. Owlbert and Y/n nodded in response.

"Hey, hey. I wanna be in this thing." Grim said, hoping on Y/n's shoulder, giving her a big grin.

"You have to pass the audition first." Y/n said to Grim.

"It's common practice at other schools to choose their representatives from the light music or chorus clubs but... Night Raven Collage let's all students try their luck through the audition process." Crowley said.

"Everyone gets their shot to duke it out and aim for the top, huh." Deuce said with a smirk. This obviously peaked his interest.

"Most students attempting the audition have been preparing since last year's VDC." Crowley muttered out. "But I think everyone had the right to dream about becoming a star. How about that? Aren't I gracious?" Crowley let's out a chuckle. "As long as you're a student here, you can sign up for the audition. I'm looking forward to the to seeing our representatives." And with that, Crowley walks away, humming a happy tune in the process. (A/n: Idk why, but Crowley humming makes me smile for some reason.)

""Audition song will be 'Piece Of My World'."" Ace said, reading the poster's information more. The song itself already gotten Y/n's attention. But the next information made her think twice about joining. ""Deliver your application to Rook Hunt in Class 3-A." This looks lit! All the sports clubs are stuck working behind the scenes, so this sounds so much more fun. Then if we make it, we won't have to do any of those crap jobs for the event."

"That kind of money would help out my family a lot... Ah, but..." Deuce was having second thoughts about this. "I'm not unathletic, but I've never tried dancing or singing."

"And since everyone was listening to Piece Of My World last year... There's a bunch of videos on Magicam to learn the dance from." Ace said as he turned to the others. "Learning a simple dance like that should be a breeze."

"Ffgna! We can use Magicam with that smart phone Headmaster gave us." Grim said as he placed his front paws on Y/n's head to look over her to see Hooty on the other side of the girl.

"You go on, Grim. Us owls don't really dance and sing." Hooty said to Grim.

"All alright! Imm gonna learn that dance and take the audition, too!" Grim cheered out with confidence, hopping on Y/n's head in the process.

"Your dancing is going to worth the watch, for a different reason." Y/n chuckled out.

"I'm going to pass. I really don't think I have any chance of making it through anyway." Deuce muttered.

"Same here." Y/n said, raising her hand to the side of her face.

"Ugh, kill joy." Ace huffed out and pouted.

"First of all, you shouldn't even be going if you're not going to take it seriously." Deuce said to Ace.

"And in my case, having a girl on stage would cause a lot of eyes in me so I'mma pass." Y/n added.

"It's just the audition, you don't have to think that hard about it." Ace sighed at the two.

"Hmph. One of us has to take role of picking you after you fail the audition, right?" Deuce said to Ace with a smirk.

"You talking about Y/n?" Hooty hooted out.

"Screw you. We haven't even done the audition. But you can stand there and watch me pass." Ace smirked back at Deuce.

"Yeah, yeah! That prize money and tuna cans are gonna be mine!" Grim added.

"Sure, sure... Ah, that's right, we've got potions next." Deuce said, checking the schedule for the next class. "It's my day today to help out, so I have to get over to the lab to get the supplies ready. We can't just sit around loitering, we should get our food ordered."

"Same! I'm starving." Grim yelped out.

"Oh yeah, Y/n. You're going to join us in the audition too, right?" Ace said to the girl next to him.

"Who else's gonna watch over you three? Chaos will break out if I'm not there." Y/n chuckle out.

"Hey." Ace pouted. "Do you even know how to sing?" Y/n soon smirked.

"♪Nejureta rizuma de odorou
Utasumuki haru iji mo aikyou sa
Kamawanai yo chotto warui kurai ga ii janai?♪ How's that?" Y/n chuckled out, seeing the shocked and surprised faces the boys have.

"YOU CAN SING!?" Ace, Grim, and Deuce yelped out.
