Y/n POV

When I said I was probably going to be able to go home early... I lied. Someone scheduled a last minute meeting that lasted longer than it should have. So, now I'm gonna be a few minutes late walking out, which is exactly what I didn't want to happen. As I'm spinning in my desk chair and grabbing my bag, my phone rings

"Hello?" I answered

"Bean?" I heard the soft voice

"I know, I'm late. Someone scheduled a last minute meeting and it lasted wayyy longer then it should have. I'm on my way now" I said

"Oh okay" she said

"I'm sorry, my love" I said

"It's okay. Don't be sorry. I was just worried because I haven't heard from you in a while" she said

"I know, I'm sorry. I'll be there soon though" I said

"Okay" she said

"Okay" I said

With that, I hung up the phone and walked out of the building to my car. As soon as I got in, I buckled my seatbelt and started the car. Soft music from the radio was playing in the background, which made the ride go way faster. Before I knew it, I was pulling into my driveway.

Once I made sure I had everything, I walk to the front door and take my key out. Before I could even have the chance to stick my key in the door, it swings open

"Jesus" I said getting scared

"You're late" ariana said

"I know, I thought we went over th-" I got cut off

"The kids and I have been waiting" She said

"Kids? What kids?" I asked confused

"I had the read the kids a bed time story tonight, but they wanted you" she said

I just looked at her like she was crazy while she looked at me with her arms crossed

"Okay, I'm scared" I said with a laugh

"Was that good? I'm practicing" she said with a smile, almost like she broke out of character

"Practicing for what?" I laughed

"The future" she said letting me in

I just shook my head with a laugh

"How was work?" She asked

"Good, how was... how were the kids?" I teased

"They were good, although, I had to put Toulouse in time out" she said

"Did you now, what was he doing?" I asked

"Humping my leg" she said with a straight face

That's when I lost it. Laughter took over my entire body

"What? He was" Ariana said as she began laughing too

"Oh god" I said calming down a bit

"Sorry I ruined our little role play" she playfully winked

"That shit was funny" I said before I kissed her

She stuck her tongue out of the corner of her lips

"Should I look for something to cook?" I asked

"No need" she said

"Why?" I asked

"I'm already cooking" she said

"Are you now?" I asked

"Yes, I am. And you're gonna love it" she said wrapping her arms around my neck
