Ariana's POV

"Ariana" I heard y/n's soft voice wake me

"Yea?" I asked tiredly

"What's this?" She asked

I rolled over to look at her since my back was facing her

"What?" I asked

Just then, she turned her phone to me.

"Can I?" I asked in order to actually read it

She handed me her phone willingly. It looked like she was reading an article of some sort. I brought my eyes up to read the headline

Ariana Grande seen out with former boyfriend Dalton Gomez. It seems the two were having coffee and holding hands. Where's y/n? Is this a new romance once again

I read the headline over, and over, and over

"Y/n" I said as she just looked at me

I can't tell if I see hurt in her eyes or betrayal, or both

"Let me explain" I said

"Okay" she said calmly

I sighed before I spoke

"He was blowing my phone up. Non stop. He said he wasn't gonna leave me alone until he apologized. I can even show you the messages" I said reaching for my phone

All she did was look at me. It looked like tears were starting to form

"Look" I said handing her my phone

She took my phone and read the text messages

"So when you told me you were going to the studio, in reality, you went to go meet your ex boyfriend.. in public.. for coffee?" She asked

"I- yea" I said now realizing that it looks back

"Knowing there could've been paparazzi?" She asked

All I could do was nod

"You lied to me" she said in broken voice

"No. No i didn't. I actually went to the studio. Just not right away. I didn't even get a coffee and I didn't stay long" I tried to explain

"But you stayed long enough to laugh and hold hands?" She asked

"We weren't holding hands. I swear. He apologized to me, then asked if we could stay friends and-" I started

"Friends?" She asked

"But I said I can't be friends with him. I told him that I'm in a good place. I'm in a good place with you, with us. We're in a good place, just me and you" I tried to explain further

"Okay" was all she said

"Okay? Okay what?" I asked

"I believe you" she said

I just looked at her. She didn't sound too convincing

As silence fell between us. She got up from the bed

"Where are you going?" I asked

"I have to get ready for work" she said plainly

"But.. can't you just stay home today.. so we can work this out the right way?" I asked

"No" was all she said

I watched as she disappeared into the bathroom. Almost slamming the door, causing me to jump. Once I heard the shower turn on and the water hit the floor, I quickly grabbed my phone
