Thomas woke up very early one morning, he went outside to get some air. He had his own hut, along with Newt. He saw the blonde boy sitting down by the sea once again, he walked over and sat next to him. "What you doing up?" he asked, Newt didn't shift his gaze off the ground. "Couldn't sleep." he told him. The dark haired boy looked straight at him, "Come on, I can tell when you're lying." Thomas replied. "I'm not lying Tommy." he said, looking at Thomas. His blonde hair blowing in the light sea breeze, "Fine, you got me. It's just.. everytime I close my eyes-" "I know. You don't have to say it." Thomas said, not shifting his gaze from Newt. The boy let out a small appreciative smile, then it slipped away again.
"Maybe sitting alone isn't the best thing for you Newt, you're just gonna keep thinking about it.." Thomas said, "Even just for a half hour, come and talk to them later. When they all wake up." Newt looked at him, "It's just.. when I see them all, it just reminds me that she's not here. And that she never will be." Newt said, looking back into the blue abyss of the ocean. The waves were calm today, the water hitting off the sand and the rocks. They heard talking, both of their heads turned around slowly to see Minho and Frypan sitting together. They were having some eggs, there wasn't a very wide selection of food in the Safe Haven. They would normally have breakfast which would be bacon or eggs, then lunch which would be a snack type of thing then dinner.
There was alot of people to feed so they didn't get much. They still got a hot dinner though so, that was good enough. "Let's go see 'em shall we?" Thomas said, Newt looked at the boy. He gave him a small nod and stood up, they walked over to the two boys who had now stopped talking. They were quite shocked to see the blonde boy, "Oh! Newt.. hey!" Frypan said, looking up at the two boys. "Hey Fry.." Newt said, sitting down on front of the two boys. Thomas sat next to him, "How you two doing?" he asked. "All good, what 'bout you?" Minho asked, shoving food in his mouth.
Newt looked up, "Do you want an honest answer?" he said with a small laugh. "I'm guessing that's probably not a very good idea, we'd be here for hours." Minho said, causing everyone to laugh including the blonde boy. Which also, surprised everyone. Chuck made his way over, rubbing his eyes. "Hey guys.." the small boy said, then he tripped over a log causing everyone to laugh. "Oh shut up.." the tired boy said quickly, standing up. Minho continued sniggering, Chuck hit him around the back of his head which eventually shut him up.
Newt didn't talk very much, still sat and listened but his mind was somewhere else. He had zoned out and wasn't listening, he only heard Minho say this. "Like bloody hell, you shank!" he said, looking at Thomas. 'That's my curse word.' he thought. He constantly said this to Y/n, he missed her. "I'll be back.." the blonde boy said, standing up without warning and walking away. He quickly walked over to his hut and sat on the wooden bed, his elbows on his knees. Thomas walked up to the door, didn't go in or stand in the doorframe. Just stood outside, thinking about what to say.
He heard a few deep breaths before the blonde boy walked outside, scaring the life out of the pair. "Bloody hell, Tommy!" Newt shouted, which woke up multiple people up. They both stood there, getting their breath back. It was around 10 am now, time had passed. They had sat talking for a long time earlier, it just hadn't really felt like it. "Sorry, Newt." the dark haired boy said, after about a minute, "Didn't mean to.. scare you." he continued. Newt nodded his head once and continued looking at the boy, "You ready to go back?" he nodded and the pair began walking back over to the group.
