-Sarah-

My scars are healing and Loki has cast an illusion to hide them as well, especially when we go out into the city. I enjoy going out into the city of misfits, it is a place where everyone is accepted and seen as equals. Well, that is other than the grandmaster and his puppets. The only thing I do not find a liking for in Sakaar is the grandmaster. He lives in this large palace and of course is considered above the rest, which is ironic considering this is meant to be a place of equality.

Loki somehow found himself in the grand master's good graces. During our process of becoming citizens, we had to meet with the grandmaster separately. I have no idea what went on in that room but I do know Loki's silver tongue can do wonders. Whatever conspired led us to be invited to many high-class events and led to Loki and I getting offered a job as one of the grandmaster's bounty hunters.

We both gratefully accepted because we had a feeling we had no choice or we would be put into 'The Games', the sick fighting show the grandmaster orchestrated for any citizens that do not come to his liking. He uses 'The Games' as a form of entertainment, which honestly is entertaining but twisted. He is forcing people to fight each other against their will. It's disgusting. Loki doesn't seem as repulsed by it as me, and I don't fault him for it, it's in his nature and I know he enjoys a good fight.

I also have caught the looks the grandmaster gives Loki. It is no secret that the grandmaster is not straight and it's very obvious, especially when he makes passes at my boyfriend. I try my best to ignore it. I can tell Loki sees it too and whenever he does he gets really uncomfortable, I usually try to give him an escape, for which he is very grateful.

***Present Day (One month after arriving on Sikaar)***

Loki and I are out on a shift, circling the scrap yard for any possible contenders for 'The Games'. I see another one of the grand master's bounty hunter's ships pass by and land in the scrap yard. Curious me and Loki hover above watching when we see a group of lower-status junkyard workers closing in on a figure. I use the ship's camera to zoom in on the figure about to be abducted. Blonde hair, strong build, Asgardian armor...

Asgardian armor. Shit. I nudge Loki to look at the camera, he does as directed and I see his face pale.

"What? What is it?" I ask, concern laced in my voice. Loki exits out of the camera.

"We must go." is all he said to me. I could see how shaken he was so I decided not to argue and just followed his lead.

Loki takes over the controls on the ship and lands us back at the loading dock.

"Loki wha-" I start to ask but get cut off by him grabbing my hand and pulling me off the ship.

"Shh, I'll tell you once we get out of here," Loki whispers, still leading me out of the hangar and down some hallways.

Loki suddenly turns a corner and enters a door, pulling me in with him. I almost fall into the room and the door is quickly shut behind me. Loki pushes me up against the wall of a dark room I am assuming is for maintenance. I can see the small amount of light from the hallway cast onto his face, accentuating his sharp jawline. I can't help but notice how close we are and how hard we are breathing. His lips look so kissable right now... Oh my god, Sarah, focus!

"Loki, for god's sake tell me what is going on!" I whisper yell. Loki gulps before answering,

"Thor is here." I stare blankly at him.

"Thor..." I question asking for more information.

"Thor, my brother." It takes me a second but the lightbulb goes off in my head.

"Thor?! The god of thunder?! Your brother is here?!" I say in realization. Loki rolls his eyes at my slowness.

"Yes, my oaf of a brother is here."

"What? Why? How? Huh?" I struggle to find my words and mentally face-palm myself for sounding so stupid. "Sorry, I'm just flustered."

"It is quite alright darling, I find it quite cute when you are flustered," Loki says with a suggestive smile, making me blush and become even more flustered. Damn it. Loki laughs at the effect his words had on me. I'll have to get him back later.

"What are we going to do?" I ask, getting back to the task at hand. "Do you think he is here for you?" Loki sighs.

"I fear he is here for both of us. Which means we have to get out of here." Loki states.

"Loki where the hell would we go? This was literally the only place in all the nine realms where we wouldn't be found." I note. Loki ponders my words then sighs.

"I do not know," is all he answers. Loki, the god of mischief, does not know? "All I know is I won't let anyone take you from me again. Ever." I look up at him sadly, he looks down at me.

"Promise?" I ask, cupping his face in my hand. Loki nods.

"I promise my love." with that he leans down to meet my lips with his in a slow, passionate kiss. I melt into his arms and hold onto this moment, for fear we may not have another for quite some time.

An hour later we are at our apartment, packing our things. Loki says he has a way for us to get out, I'm just hoping everything goes to plan.

I gather up a few of the clothes I've gathered while on Sikkar and set them on the bed for Loki to place them into his interdimensional pocket, however that works. I dress into something more casual for us to make our escape and sit on the bed as Loki continues to pack.

Just as I had thought we were free and I could start a new life, we were found. Now we have to leave the place I had just begun to call home. I let myself get comfortable and thought I could live my happily ever after. I felt like everything was falling into place, and now it's all falling apart again. We have nowhere to go. There is nowhere we won't be found. No place safe in all the nine realms for me and Loki to live in peace. And there may never be. No matter where we go or what we do we will never be free. What if I never find a place I can call home? What if we're on the run for the rest of our lives?

"Don't think that." I hear Loki say from the doorway. I snap out of my thoughts and look up at him.

"What?" I ask, confused. He has a sad expression on his face as he approaches me and sits down next to me on the bed.

"I um...you were sitting there so quiet and I wanted to know what you were thinking..." Loki starts, timidly. "So I um...read your mind." I open my mouth and look at him, taken aback by his statement.

"You can do that?" I ask. I wonder if he has been doing that this whole time. I'm a little worried if he has. My thoughts are private for a reason.

"Yes," he answers.

"Do you read my thoughts a lot?" I question, a little concerned for the things he may have heard. Loki shakes his head.

"No of course not!" he answers abruptly. "Only on occasion when I notice you pondering," "Or when I see other men flirt with you at the grand master's parties," Loki grumbles that last part. I sigh in relief and laugh at his overprotectiveness. "But do not fret my love, we will find a place to call home, somewhere you are safe." He says that with a determination which makes me feel a little better. I give him a small smile and place a light kiss on his lips.

"Ok, what's next?"
