*Author's Note*-Firstly I would like to apologize for what's coming, I know it was unexpected and I know this direction is hated but I have a plan that should make it different than any other fanfics I've read.  Secondly, I'd like to say wow, this is chapter 30 and I'm so excited, this chapter is one that really starts to unravel the plot for the rest of this book and set up the plot for the sequel (title TBD). So please read the warnings for this chapter and enjoy!

*Warning!*-Contains descriptions of torture, and hints at depression.

Dark.

It's dark and quiet, and I'm alone.

The air smells of disinfectant and my head starts to spin. What happened? Where am I? Slowly I move my head to the side to examine the room. There is a small tray on top of a table that holds what looks like medical devices, syringes, and needles. But there are also other instruments that look quite more intimidating. My head jerks towards the door as it opens and a woman walks in. I try to sit up but notice my hands and legs are restrained.

"Who are you and what do you want?" I sneer. I'm in no mood for games.

"Take care in how you speak to your elders' child." The woman advises, a condescending tone to her voice.

"My elders?! You kidnapped me, I'll talk to you however I want you bitch!" The woman walks to me and slaps me hard across the face, she has such great strength that my vision blurs for a moment.

"As I was saying...watch your tone child, were you not taught to respect your fellow Valkyrie?" The woman glares daggers at me and I glare back but furrow my brows at her words. What did she say?

"M-my fellow Valkyrie?" I ask in shock. The woman nods.

"Aye, I am a Valkyrie, like yourself and your mother before you."

"Then why are you after Valkyrie?" I asked, clenching my jaw at the mention of my mother.

"I serve my queen."

"Your queen? Why would she want the Valkyrie dead, whoever she is?"

"Simple, they betrayed her." I think for a moment before I freeze in realization, my breath catching in my throat.

"Hela..." I breathe out.

"Aye, queen Hela, ruler of the dead and queen of the Valkyrie. And yes, I am dead."

"So why haven't you killed me yet? Why tell me this?"

"Oh dear child, I'm not going to kill you. You are still of use to me, to us."

"And why would that be?"

"You have connections, and we...have leverage." I narrow my eyes at the woman that stands before me. She laughs at me turning to a computer set up on a counter on the side of the room. She pulls up a graph of some sort with information.

"You have nothing on me." The woman turns around with a 'matter of fact' look on her face.

"Well, then you might be interested to learn that you are with child." As she says the words I feel my ears ring and my breath grow frantic. With child? How could I not have known?

"W-why are you telling me this?" I stammer, apparent fear laced through every letter. Fear for me, Loki, my unborn child.

"Because we need your help, and if you refuse we will hurt you and your child." I feel my throat swell and my stomach roll. What if she's lying? Maybe I'm not pregnant, she just wants me to think I am.

"You're lying. I'm not pregnant."

"I'm afraid not." The woman says, turning the screen to show me the test results concluding that I in fact am pregnant. Tears brim in my eyes.
