I think I might have a heart attack (Deathnote FanFic)

The back door creaked open as a dark figure entered, carrying a black notebook. He looked over his shoulder to make sure no one was following him, then walked towards the center of the warehouse hesitatingly, unsure if the move he was about to make would give him a huge advantage, or would be a grave mistake that would cost him his life.

But this was simply a risk he would just have to take.

I licked my dry lips and swallowed, I felt as though a brick had just been dropped to the very bottom of my stomach.

Calm down, we've been through this, just go and do you thing, you'll be fine!

Yeah, my thing, right.

As in stuffing it all up and killing everyone?

How comforting.

I can remember quite clearly how Light reacted when he was cornered, on trust me, it wasn't pretty. If I said the wrong thing this guy would kill me!

I shuddered.

"I'm not going to lie and tell you you'll be fine."

Ł's voice echoed in my head,

"But I can truthfully tell you this much, your smart. You can handle this, you know what to do, so go and do it. Thats all I'm asking."

I had seen it in his eyes that he was being truthful, here a hadn't been any doubt in here whatsoever.

"Yeah Mirai! Go do your thing! You can do this!"

Matsuda's voice added in his usual, cheerful manner. I smiled nervously and breathed in and out deeply, lets go.

I walked out of the shadows and into the light.

I had put in a heap of eye liner and mascara on in an attempt to look older. On top of that I had even worn a pair of combat boots that had quite large heels making me taller as well. Light will see straight through it, but hey, I tried right?

I walked towards him with my head held high,

"Remember, you have the upper hand so act like it."

Light isn't going to get the best of me, in fact by the time I'm done with him, he'll be afraid of me.

"Don't worry Mirai! You can totally take Kira down!"

It's about time someone put Light back in his place.

I stopped in front of Light with a look of pure authority plastered across my face. For a split second a look of astonishment crossed his face, but it faded away just as quickly as it had come.

I silently pulled my Deathnote out of my bag and showed it to him.

"Hello Light, or should I say Kira?"
"I see, so your the second Kira."

He replied in his usual "I'm so smart, unlike you" voice as he pulled out his own Deathnote.

"Your the one who sent that riddle."
It was more of a statement than a question.

"It was well thought out and planned, not even Ł could have figured that one out."

Lol, Ł figured that one out in like five seconds, but there's no way in hell I'm telling you that.

"Thats why I wrote it such a way,"
I said, trying to sound smart, but was obviously failing epically.

"Tell me, second Kira, how did you find out my name? Did you make the Shinigami eye trade."

"How did I know your name? How did I know how you were going to follow Raye onto that train? How did I know you would first meet Ł after the entrance ceremony? How duding know you and Ł would play that tennis match together?"

I went on and on, trying to make Light realise that I had the upper hand and our kid be taking it from here onward.

"How did I know your Shinigami was Ryuk? How did I know that you were a straight A student? How did I know where you lived?"

He looked at me astonished.

"It was simple, anyone could of found out all that easily."

"B-but I covered my tracks!"

"But not your trail."

I paused, I was really starting to enjoy this now.

"You see, remember that time where you almost had that FBI agents ID?"

He grpimanced, disgusted by the memory of when a 14 year old had gotten the better of him, he, the God of the New World.

"That was an idiotic move."
I stated bluntly.

Light looked slightly offended, I pretended not to notice and continued on.

"It was embarrassing, watching the so called "God of the New World" run around Japan, unable to kill a single FBI agent. Thats why I ended up taking his ID, that way you wouldn't be encouraged to try and kill anyone else.with that method."

I crossed in front of my chest, growing in confidence.

"From here onward we are going to have to do things as quickly and efficiently as possible, we don't have time for mistakes."

I paused,

"Your Kira, right? Your the God of the New World, right? Well it's time you started acting like it. It's time we showed this world that there is a solution to their problems. And you Light Yagami, are that solution."

A smile creeped up the side of Light's mouth, here we go again, another spazz attack.

"I'm glad you think so. It's truly music to my ears to hear that there's actually people out there, in the midst of this rotten world, who can see that things need to change and are willing to give their lives for that very purpose. Together we will be unstoppable! You and I will be the God's the New World! Yes! I can see it all clearly, it's only a matter of time before we will kill Ł then there will be nothing in our path!"

He began to laugh hysterically.

I grimaced, trying to manage a smile as not to give away that I didn't agree with him whatsoever.

"So, tell me second Kira, how do you propose we kill Ł?"

He turned to me, a look of pure evil in his eyes.

I smiled,

"Oh, I don't know, your Kira. Maybe you should ask him yourself."

I stepped aside, revealing Ł who had been standing there ever since I had first walked over to Light....
