It's been a few days since our encounter with the ro-beast, and the paladins were currently doing repairs to the ship while Allura, Coran and I monitored them. I sat in Keith's seat, watching as the two Alteans instructed them on what they should do, trying my best not to laugh at any failed attempts they had.

"Let's hurry up with these repairs. Zarkon could be here at any moment,", Shiro told us over the intercom. The thought alone sent shivers up my spine; if Zarkon came here, so would he. Shaking my head, I turned my attention to what Hunk said next.

"Okay, the panel's off. What now?", he asked.

"Very simple. Just loosen the blaxums on the somoflange", Coran replied, leaving me baffled at whatever he had just said. I heard silence on the other end of the communication, most likely because Coran's words had confused everyone but him and Allura.

"Could you be more specific?", Hunk deadpanned.

"Sorry, Hunk,", Allura started. "He means the poklones on the agroclams,", she finished. 'Jeez, Altean things are so complicated...'

"No, that doesn't help,", I heard Hunk mutter. I let out a giggle at his comment, but quickly quieted down when I saw the look Allura was giving me.

"Easy, Hunk. I got this,", Lance said confidently, making me slightly nervous. 'If Lance tries to fix the castle, I can guarantee that we'll end up sleeping in the lions until someone else gets us a new one'. I stood up from my seat and turned to face Coran and Allura.

"I-is it safe to let Lance do this?", I ask wearily.

"Hey! Don't be mean, yn!", Lance whined as he pressed some random buttons on the... thing. All of a sudden, alarms began blaring, and the surface of the castle turned red. "Uh oh. That can't be good,", he yelled nervously. I flinched at the sharp sound of the alarms, covering my ears to block out the noise.

"No, not the smalters! The poklones!", Allura told him.

"No, no! It's the blaxums!", Coran argued.

"What are you talking about?", Keith asked, his tone showing his agitation. I laughed to myself at the situation, knowing Lance would be the type to cause something like this, even if he was only trying to help. I listened as someone interfered with the argument, repairing the castle with ease.

"There, fixed,", Pidge declared.

"Well done, Pidge!", Allura said, and I nodded, feeling proud of my friend for being able to fix a foreign system with such ease, especially when it seemed so complicated.

"The tech on this ship never ceases to amaze me. It's so mathematically elegant. Its fit is a hundred times more frictionless than any exoskeleton we have on Earth. It's... beautiful!", Pidge gushed at the fascinating Altean technology, making me internally groan.

"It's not a sunset, Pidge,", Lance grumbled.

"You're right,", Pidge admitted, almost... too easily. "A billion sunsets happen every day. Some genius engineer actually built this!"

"Kinda looks like a big, delicious curly fry,", Hunk added, and I could practically imagine his smile growing as it usually did whenever food was brought into the equation. Suddenly, though, Hunk groaned, saying, "What the...?"

Everyone stayed silent, and it was then that we noticed the small blue spheres surrounding the ship.

"Alright, we're prepared for this,", Shuro began, using his more authoritative tone. "Remember your rogue projectile cluster training from the Garrison. First, we need a temporary shelter-", he was cut off by something hitting him, resulting in a groan.
